That I can't statnd. Before you say, it's because he beat our arse, it's not. B/c I've had no problem turning on a game and watching Stafford and Knoshawn or even JPW and the tide. But I just can not sit through a game of watching this kid with out getting pissed off. The running down the sideline shite to pump the crowd till a Ref has to come get him, throw a fricking flag, it's not like it's the first time he did it and didn't know.
I know he's the golden boy and superman and realy a good valued kid, But I cannot stand to watch him. It's even worse durring an interview.
But I can't realy figure out what the hell it is thats gets to me soo much?

To me its the way the media shoves him in our face. They praise him as the second comming of Jesus Christ. And they talk about how humble he is. But all you see in your face is that punk grin and him being his own cheerleader.
The guy is a great athlete. I will not deny that. But do they and he have to pound it in our face like we are too stupid to figure it out for ourselves?

I have no problem with Florida winning it all this year. Its another win for the SEC.
But if Tebow was a Tiger, I would still feel it was a little over the top.

I think he's great for college football.

I used to feel the same way.....
he comes across as arrogant,
although it is not arrogance but conviction
and competitiveness.
as we say in Texas,
it is not bragging if you can do it.
he WALKS THE WALK.....
The more you read about him, the more you should appreciate the "human being"

Tebow is not my favorite player but I don't get the distinction between him and Stafford except his success. The media fawning over a player does get old but it's not his fault.

With all the media attention Tebow gets, I wouldn't be surprised if they name an award after him.

I don't know.
I agree with all you guys to some extent. I realy don't think it's the media sucking him off so much that gets to me, although they are way over the top with it.
I just for some reason kept hoping someone would bust his arse last night. Not hurt him, well I guess I wouldn't have minded him wobbling around a little bit, but I just wanted so bad for someone to get a clean shot on him.

The guy takes more shots in a game than an average running back, and he gets up and does it again....
I think he is a terrific face for the game of CFB. He is a competitor and a guy who has character...wow..great to see that in a good athlete now in days.....and even though a lot of people may not like him (or can''t stand to watch him for that matter) I have found an appreciation for him in the game. He's well balanced in my book.

besides the Championships...
it's the leadership...
and the personal CHARACTER ....look beyond football
the differences will become obvious.

The kid is great, if was on our team we'd love him.

If you aren't familiar with this column, give it a chance. It is meant to be funny and quick thoughts, so it takes getting used to.

One of the single best things to hit college ball in a while. He is a beacon of character and everything all college athletes should strive to be. He is almost perfect and I appreciate the role model he provides for the little ones.

as to the original post....could it be that you're so average or maybe less, and he is in no way average...on or off the field...envy and jealously often disguise themselves quite well within the maze of lying eyes...think about it

I think the announcers just like to say his name. It's like "Tim Tebow" just rolls off their tongues nicely and they love it.
He's a super athlete, but if you had the OU QB Bradford running that offense, with those weapons (Harvin, Demps, Murphy, etc.) He'd win, and more of the credit would be going to the coach, team, program, and other stars on the team.
My only problem is the amount of credit that Tebow gets for UF's success. Tebow at another school with other surrounding talent would not be such a big deal.
That being said, I love the guy (person) and think he's a shining star for what a college athlete should be. Hard working, dedicated, morally together, etc. I'd love him at LSU for sure.

It is very simple. Two reasons.
1. He is not a Tiger.
2. He claims to be a Christian, and actually lives it.
That usually really disturbs people, because we all struggle so hard to live a righteous life. With Tebow, it is hard to reconcile his competitive spirit with the Christian walk. I don't see it as a contradiction, but it could be viewed that way.

Never underestimate character and leadership.
.....
so you are saying that Tebow had little to do with Florida's win because of the talent.
