Anyone from the board going to Chapel Hill in a few weeks? I'm taking my son. Really looking forward to it.

I would like to, but it's an 8 hour drive from Bham and is on a weekday. I'd have to take 2 days off of work and get a hotel for at least 2 nights.

I plan on being there but I live 15 minutes from the Dean Dome and have season tickets.

Depends on what you and your son enjoy. No offense to the other poster but Top of the Hill would not make my list for good food.

I’ll be there. Fly in Tuesday and back to Bham Thursday. Real excited.
I’m flying solo, didn’t know about the shuttle you mentioned. But I’ve been told the walk from my hotel is about a mile, but through campus. So if we get a nice day, I’ll probably do that

Friend who lives in Raleigh said there's a group of Bama fans meeting up at Top of the Hill Brewery before the game. Said food wasn't great but fun atmosphere and good beer selection.
He suggested taking the Tar Heel Express shuttle from downtown to the Dean Dome. Shuttle picks up in front of the Carolina Coffee Shop which is right next to Top of the Hill and drops you off right at the Dean Dome. Starts 1.5 hours before tip. Said parking near the Dean Dome is a mess. Either walk or take the shuttle

Same as it is about the same distance for us and the parking is a lot better.
The local farms they use for beef and cheese we are friends with both.
The new Taproom in Pittsboro is really nice. A small group of UA fans meet there for football games now. Though I tend to go to Raleigh for viewing as that is where Roll Tide Raleigh meets.

Not sure where your hotel is unless staying at the Carolina Inn but I would not walk it at night. The homeless people have gotten real crazy since Covid and police are not allowed to arrest or detain them now, just monitor them. They have to call in someone from social services to deal with them.

Sup Dogs is really good just around the corner from you are at. Also, a place called Buns but I have yet to eat there. Burgers are supposed to be really good.
