why? i figured Billy would have heard hysterical laughing and a dial tone after sending out the invites.

Why not? It's a free game and something to do on the weekend.
Off topic, but Lance Jackson has been taking visits to Arky all season because his brother plays there and he gets free tickets to watch him. Kids have all sorts of reasons to take these visits, but I think this one is just to enjoy the recruiting journey.

i'm pretty sure Ffrench has made it known that he has no intentions on going anywhere but Texas. especially not Florida.
i just can't fathom visiting somewhere i have <0% interest in. but i'm not a FB recruit, so...
if it's about "the journey", why not go to LSU, Ole Miss, Bama, Clemson, Oregon, etc?

Ffrench told the Texas staff about it prior to it getting out publicly.

Not trolling when I say, all these guys should take visits. Sometimes they get paid to visit. At a minimum, it keeps pressure on the other schools to pay more.

Miami is the one that will try and try to keep him stay in state. He will stay with Texas unless a massive NIL package from Miami, which is not impossible.

Some places pay just to have players visit. Not saying Florida is, but some places do. And why not get some free stuff and attention while getting to watch a college football game

None of these 5*s that are visiting are going to commit, win/lose. These are just optics to give the illusion that Billy can be taken seriously on the recruiting trail.

There seems to be some genuine interest with UF according to Texas insiders. He could be on flip watch.
