Thats why they're sitting their qb. So they can have an excuse.

UT’s best win is Alabama. Ole Miss’s best win is Georgia. UT has the better win.

UT lost at Arkansas and (hypothetically) at Georgia. Ole Miss lost at home to Kentucky and at LSU. UT’s losses are better than Ole Miss’s.

Tennessee has the better resume

What is your 2nd best win? It isn’t as good as @SC

What is your SoS? Counting all 12 games it is 10 points behind Ole Miss at 35.

If we beat the 2 teams that beat you by a combined 50 points, that has to count for something.

Depends on how big a loss. 1 point? Maybe not. Blown out Ole Miss/Georgia style? Not a chance in hell.

lol how much value do you think the committee puts on 2nd best win? In the hypo that UT loses to Georgia and wins out or second best win would be Vandy who’s basically the equivalent to USC

What is your SoS? Currently it is 7.

We are entertaining a hypothetical wherein UT loses to Georgia but you haven’t factored in playing UGA into UT’s SoS lol

Want to know the truth? The loser of the UT-UGA game is very likely out of the playoffs. And Ole Miss is already out

Genuine question - hasn't Ole Miss' SoS trailed Tennessee's SoS most if not all season with the exception of the boost that you just got from UGA last weekend? Tennessee plays UGA this weekend and will see its SoS pass Ole Miss again after that game concludes if I'm not mistaken. Which admittedly I very well could be.

I realize that we all troll each other on here. Just this once, I'm honestly curious.

The Arky and UK losses are equally bad, but in the reverse matchups ole miss smoked Arky and Tenn struggled with UK. UGA is the only other common opponent and ole miss won handily. If UT loses that is a clear ole miss advantage.

And if ole miss beats UF worse than UT did (6 points) I think that is game over.

They really aren't. Losing to a 5-4 (3-3) Arkansas team on the road at night is not the same as losing to a legitimately terrible 3-6 (1-6) Kentucky team at home for home coming.

Yeah common opponents are:

UGA - OM won by 18
UF - Tenn winning 6
Ark - Tenn lost by 5/ OM won by 32
UK - Tenn won by 10/ OM lost by 3
State - Tenn won by 19
OU - Tenn won by 10/ OM won by 12

Still a few common opponents left but I like our chances.

if Vols lose to GA they fall to 12.. GA moves up to 11, OM moves up to 10 and Bama moves up to 9.

They cant be any higher than GA with the same number of losses and a head to head loss

I think OM and Bama wins over GA have kind of established a line in the sand. GA cant go up if we both win out and TN cant stay above it they lose to GA

Tennessee beat Alabama in the H2H, would have the same number of losses as Alabama and would still be ranked lower than Alabama despite beating them due to when the UGA game is played during the season if Tennessee loses. I understand your premise, but your statement is not as absolute as your making it out to be.

My only worry is that UT has a head to head over Bama. So there is no way to rank the 4 teams while respecting head to head assuming UGA beats UT which means the committee will just make up wherever they want to justify the matchups they want.

H2H isn’t the only factor. We have beaten more top 25 teams than anyone. UT would have the advantage over us for the SECCG but not the playoffs.

Both should be in. The respect Indiana is getting sickens me same with Notre Dame. We’re getting dinged for a loss to Arkansas but Notre Dame is getting rewarded for playing a cup cake schedule and losing to Northern Illinois!

No you don’t, and it’s not close.

Georgia would be a 2 loss team with the most difficult schedule in the nation, with 2 top 10 losses on the road.

If Texas wins out Georgia will have an impressive win against the #2 team on the road.

Bama will have a better resume, and so will Ole Miss.

You need to be hoping Indiana gets blown out by Overrated State. If you lose to Georgia you’re on the bubble.

I can’t disagree. Tennessee stays ahead. Our worst loss isn’t quite as bad as your worst loss. I think that will be what they look at in the end. But I do believe Ole Miss and Tennessee has the two best defenses in this conference. And that is how you win titles.

Wish I was as confident as you. But we are Ole Miss. Easy to leave us behind.

You just had an impressive win over (if Georgia wins) the team who beat you, late in the year. When you lose matters.

Also it’s Georgia, a team that has won 2 of the last 3 national titles. You’re the first team not named Alabama to beat them in I think 5 years.

That will matter to the committee. If it was Saban you know it would matter, and Kirby is the closest thing to Nick currently coaching.
