No. The ACC isn't enough of a test for anyone who wins it to be ready for the playoff, especially with how it is deluded by adding teams like Stanford and Cal. ACC teams will be eliminated their first or second game because they won't be ready for good opponents.

So nobody from the ACC will be winning national titles... thus they won't be Bama.

Didn't stop Clemson from roughing Bama up twice in the natty

Did that make Clemson become “bama-like”?
Absolutely not. No one in their right mind thinks Clemon’s 2 nattys in that timeframe is anywhere close to what bama accomplished in that timeframe

Doesn’t SMU have a 32k seat stadium?

Wasn't the ACC champion and undefeated contender explicitly excluded from the CFP last season because everyone knows what a joke the ACC is?

Asking for a friend.

The acc is more diluted now.

Before Clemson always played a SEC team in SC, often played another SEC team OOC and played an ACC schedule that ensured they played 2 of the top 3 ACC teams each year along with regularly playing a usually decent Notre Dame team.

With the added teams that doesn't happen for ACC teams anymore. Look at Miami. They have ONE of the other top 5 ACC teams on their regular season schedule this year. Their one OOC game of note ended up being a dud as well (not their fault, but it is what it is).

Their toughest regular season test is going to be Louisville this year. That is their only current top 25 opponent this year and it's possible they will end up with NO top 25 opponents in the regular season this year.

That doesn't prepare you for playing (if the current standings were to hold and the higher seed won) first Texas... then UGA... then Oregon.

The ACC winner is effectively going to be Oklahoma from the Big 12 while Texas wasn't good when it comes to the playoffs. They'll make it due to winning their conference, then lose because their regular season didn't prepare them to face a playoff level of opponent.

You have a valid point there. The soft schedule applies to most big 10 teams also

Nobody is afraid of SMU.

BYU played SMU on the road and won. Nevada nearly beat SMU.

You have to understand that nobody is impressed by playing a schedule of ACC and Big 12 teams. Those conferences have a lot of air in them.

It applies to everyone outside of the SEC to some degree, but to the Big 10 less than the ACC.

Teams in each conference in the top 20 of the 247 talent composite.

SEC - 11
Big 10 - 5
ACC - 3
And ND.

Top 30 is:

SEC - 14
Big 10 - 8
ACC - 5
Big 12 - 2
and ND

SEC teams who make the playoff will be well tested.
A Big 10 team has a 50-50 shot at being tested.
It will be extremely rare for a ACC team to be tested.
Big 12 teams will never be tested.

Have y'all considered a move to the Sun Belt or perhaps an FCS conference?

Lol. You all are having a great season because of one transfer quarterback. Are you all able to replicate that year in and year out? Not to mention this is a top 10 team, not top 5. So the question really is can you have a better season than this year? And can you sustain that? Not even close to a discussion now
