So far, this has been one of my favorite seasons in a while. We thought NIL would gut the poors and kill parity… seems it has raised the floor instead. We thought the playoff would suck some life out of the regular season — nope.

I wouldn’t put money on shite this year & I love it. Nobody has depth and it feels like anyone can beat anyone.

Don't get attached to any players, and I agree

Spot on.

We’ve looked very beatable, and unbeatable at times. This has been the most enjoyable season I can remember, because you can’t say “this game is a lock” against just about anyone.

In past seasons there were a number of games after halftime I was more interested in cruising the rant than watching a game I knew was over, and there wasn’t another decent game on.

Vandy/Kentucky was must watch football. When is the last time we paid any attention to that game?

It's going to still be the same cast of characters at the top of the playoffs at the end of the year.

A vastly expanded playoff will cast the illusion of parity with "look at all these teams, playoff caliber, playoff hopes, never seen anything like it" bullshite.

Can you give me an example of a team that sucked before NIL+Portal but is now good?

Props to you enjoying the general chaos despite not generally being a beneficiary of it.

Vandy is ranked #25. The coach credits nil and the portal for making it possible to get players he normally wouldn’t get.

Vandy… Tennessee… A&M has a real chance to make fist SECCG appearance… hell Kentucky took out a good Ole Miss team & gave y’all hell… South Carolina has a solid team… Mizzou is probably fool’s gold but they’re winning their games… Bama is not what they used to be but still managed to knock off the dawgs… Iowa state making a case… I could go on.

Dude Vandy just beat Bama. If you don’t think things are different, you’re in denial.

Vandy will not be ranked at the end of the season. This week was a pat on the head by the media, ranked just behind Army and Navy, who are also getting pats on the head.

Did you watch the Bama game because trust me I’d love to just say Bama blows, but Diego Pavia is not a fluke bro.

NIL and Portal didn't do that.

Random upsets happen every year in college football, long before NIL and Portal.

Paid players can jump ship and go play for anyone.
No loyalty to the programs
Just paid assassin’s
A good couch would hire an analyst to spot hidden talent everywhere and offer up some cash to steal them away
Or should I say a crooked coach lol

Couldn't disagree more. The games have been exciting but their ultimate lack of meaning kind of sucks.

The fact they are undefeated after 7 games and still can't crack the top ten AP poll should tell you something. Do I have to explain it, or do you kinda already know?

The best thing is it creates a lot more meaningful matchups down stretch

I don’t know how much rematch games I will be invested in but keeping more teams engaged is a good thing

I do think bowl games will suffer a slow death as some teams may just opt out

Bama had not lost to Vandy in 40 years. Only the second time to beat them in 55 years. Weird coincidence it happens with NIL and Portal which is also completely new to football. Not random. ETA Also first win vs AP top 5 team ever. lol

Absolutely

Only flaw in the system but the committee can alleviate some of this with their seeding.

bowl games went to shite after the 4 team playoff so really the 12 team playoff has nothing to do with that.

Eh. Yeah. Probably. For the most part. I think you might see a few unexpected teams slip in there from time to time. The biggest difference though is going to be the lack of “undefeated teams”. Meaning that just because you lost a game, your season isn’t “over”.
