The shiny new toy mentality, also known as shiny object syndrome (SOS) or the next shiny toy syndrome, is the tendency to be distracted by new things and focus on the latest and greatest, even if it's not practical or serves a useful purpose. This can lead to a cycle of disappointment as new technologies are quickly replaced by the next big thing.
That deer in the headlight look by Arch and Ewers on the sideline spoke volumes Saturday night.
Your OL is softer than a truckload of Charmin. Now you are looking for answers on the road against Vandy. Buckle up horns.
The Big 6 says you are not one of us yet.

Or, and hear me out, its hard to predict games when some teams haven't played anyone yet. A lot of Saban's best teams at Alabama weren't blasting teams like ULM by 60-70 points every week to the point where you knew from week 1 they were going to be tough to beat. Texas could have been legit. I think they still could be a good football team that could even win the championship. But its clear they have some adjustments to make.

UTrans was overrated all year. As they are every single year due to the hype machine. And Arch? Poor Ewers never had a chance with the UTrans fans after QB Jesus played a few downs.

For the record, Texas was only down 8 points at the end of the third quarter.
Their defense is still legit but the offense has some issues that were exposed by UGA.

quote:For all of the conspiracy theorists out there, ESPN & the SEC are 100% about $$$. If hyping and helping Bama does that, they are more than happy to do that. Same for Georgia, Texas & LSU (I remember the annual “game of the century”).

You weren't overrated? Sure looked like it. Also, I don't like Ewers but the way your fans threw him under the bus for QB Jesus in Arch (who sucked as well) is just so ... UTrans
I've seen this record with QB's at UTrans before .. Chis Simms ring a bell?

So, I can't argue that Georgia smashed Texas and is more talented overall. And Kirby Smart has engrained a level of toughness in his program that Texas has not attained.
But I want to ask what exactly do you guys mean by "not one of us". I mean over a decade later, many people here still reject Missouri and A&M as SEC brethren.
I suspect Texas will never meet your standard as I think it's likely just another way of saying outsider. And that's really fine - people can decide on their own subjective standards for calling someone family or not. But if it is that arbitrary, then it should not matter at all to Texas what you think. Pursue objective goals instead. Like finding a way to beat Georgia. That would be a good one.
