SEC Rant is hardly the entire conference. I bet your league office and college presidents love adding Texas and OU. And the broad swath of fans who watch games on tv and go about their normal lives probably don't give a thought about the new members other than a vague positive feeling.

Just my anedoctal experience. I work for a large company and have co-workers that went to many different universities. We talk a lot of sports because it is generally a safe subject for work, though people who are fervent about it still show. Most the interactions I have around SEC membership are positive if it comes up at all.
I believe the people on SEC Rant are the extreme fringe of fandom. Pragmatic people know Texas in the SEC is a good deal all around.
