Anybody want to take a guess at the starting 5?
quote:
John Calipari said his team won’t be at full strength when the Razorbacks play No. 1 Kansas in an exhibition game at 8 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Bud Walton Arena.
“Right now, we’re really beat up,” Calipari said Thursday when he was guest speaker at the Hawgs Illustrated Sports Club luncheon. “I don’t know exactly how many guys will be out. But there will be a bunch of guys out.”
quote:
Calipari wasn’t specific about which Razorbacks are injured, but when the team had open practices last weekend in Hot Springs and Pine Bluff, senior forward Jonas Aidoo, senior guard Johnell Davis and junior forward Adou Thiero didn’t go full speed or take part in contact work.

I mean with those guys out it seems like it has to be Wagner, Fland, Knox, Brazile and Z right?

Playing 4 quarters and having situationalship basketball.
I guess we can call this more of a scrimmage than exhibition?

Yep. Man, what a letdown. To annouce this and then pull this fast one? Unreal. Tickets for this have been sky high. I nearly forked over a fat stack, glad I didn't.

Anybody else feel ripped off?
quote:
This is from Self at big 12 media earlier today
“I think we're going to play quarters, so that way nobody can foul out and we can reset fouls, I think,” said Self. “I think Arkansas may be beat up, too, a little bit. I anticipate us playing most of the situations out of the quarters, but maybe have it be more of a practice-type situation where coaches can actually walk around and show things on the floor, and do some things.
“So a real game I'm not anticipating, even though we will keep score, but I'm not anticipating it being something that we probably both need to look at different combinations and stuff like that,” he added. “And since I have a lot of guys out, it'll probably be good for us to see how different guys react in actual meaningful minutes.”

It certainly doesn’t sound like the Purdue game last year but a good teaching experience for each team against an opponent.
I’m just trying to be realistic, why even keep score….

Practice. Coaches will be on the court explaining everything to our players.
Players will be put in positions to cover possible scenarios in future games. Think football practice with a 2 minute offense or the offense working on redzone plays.

If you are doing this, get some sideline reporters or mic up both coaches. Let people know why they are bitching about the situation. Otherwise it’s lame.

I'm assuming this is what happens. The use of situational can vary.
