Not understanding the t.u. hype....

Really, though. Looks at who they have played:
Scoring Off / Scoring Def
CSU: 107th / 99th
UM: 102nd / 55th
UTSA: 105th / 108th
ULM: 105th / 31st
MSU: 71st / 119th
OU: 96th / 26th
Mississippi St is the best offense they have faced.
If you avg the rank of the Off & Def, the best team they played is OU with an avg of 61st.
That could possibly mean that t.u. is scary good in a dark horse way and justify the hype. Or it could mean that their schedule was way overhyped/overrated. Or some combination of the two.
Regardless, someone explain the resurgence in popularity and hype for t.u. being a top dog in the SEC. Is it simply because of recency bias and they benefit from blowing out bad teams to continue floating on that cloud nine?

I've always said this. Their schedule is heavily backloaded. Not saying that they're great or that they suck. We just won't know either way for a few weeks.

lol, but seriously, this is a good point. I don't know why most Texas fans (with some clear exceptions) don't seem to get this. They're all hung up beating Michigan.

Their schedule has been weaker than most, but they were good last year and the only team that beat Alabama that's currently an SEC team and they've looked good on both sides of the ball this year.
We'll see if they can take a punch from a team like Georgia, but that team lost to Alabama last year and lost to Alabama this year.
Seems warranted thus far to me. Hopefully Sunday it won't be, but I'm not betting on it.

Because now is the time for Longhorn hype.
Understand that.
Understand that.

You make a fair point, Farmer.
Texas' schedule sets up nicely. Could win it all or could be one of those teams which is not exposed until the playoffs, because of its favorable schedule.

PS: I don't think A&M fans have a pot to piss in when it comes to talking about schedule strengths.
I am forced to give Texas props for keeping the Michigan game on their schedule when you have to compare it to A&M who used moving to the conference as a reason to dump their games against better competition and replaced them with FCS teams.
You want to talk about shite schedules, that would be A&M in their first year of the SEC. You know, your greatest SEC season ever.

We're battle-tested. Arkansas is a good team. Texas hasn't been tested.

They didn't think they were moving to the SEC until 2026 originally.

Sounds like somebody still has an issue with Johnny Football making 'bama look like a bunch of school girls. It's time to get over it.

Does A&M schedule have to be tougher before they can talk about another teams schedule. I have not seen that rule before.

What makes you say that

8 A@M posters on this first page lol…..A@M fans seem only point to one side of the football team . I can tell you for sure no one will face a OL as good as Texas this season. When you combine that with 2 good qbs and 5 star receivers plus a te that will be drafted high …. They do have one of the best offenses even without having their top 3 backs.
Defensively they are good . I am not going to say they are the best in the sec but they are in conversation . Whoever plays them they are young to be hard to beat …. Most of the teams hating on them usually have an agenda . OU did have more first downs than Texas 14-13 but they had way more explosive plays . If UGA can limit the big plays then they have a good shot at beating them …. I wasn’t super impressed either but Texas isn’t making mistakes right now . They are without a doubt the favorites to win the sec .

Having less time doesn't support your position, it makes it worse.
That said, it's foolish to think the people behind the scenes didn't know anything until it was publicly announced.

Winning record, handled Auburn, beat Tennessee, should've beaten OK State and us. Not saying any of those teams are great, or that Arkansas is elite, but they're not the Arkansas of last year.

OU is the only semblance of a team they have faced but Vols already broke them and beat them down so badly in Norman that they benched their 5 star QB fir the season. Just one of our man QB victims. And they didn't even have a starting WR vs Texas lmao.

Alabama won the national championship and you haven't found a player who can bounce the ball off the ground and turn it into a TD pass since.

You can talk about it all you want, I'm just going to point out you're a bunch of hypocrites who play weaker schedules. Texas is showing A&M up with their entrance into the SEC and it's eating you guys alive.
The big gap between SoS thus far between Texas A&M and Texas?
Texas A&M: #46
Texas: #55

bullshite.
Texas: @Michigan, vs MSST, vs OU (neutral)
A&M: vs ND (>Michigan), at Florida (>MSST), vs Arkansas (>OU), vs Missouri (P4 SEC team).
