How many college arenas have this? It should look great on TV.

I believe we'll be the first college to use it. It's only temporary though, just for Big Blue Madness. I don't think anyone plays on them consistently.

I'm going to guess that thing is going to be a maintenance nightmare and ultimately goes away when the cost of repairs and the ugliness of it not working novelty wears off.

It's just for Big Blue Madness.

We'll have a regular floor for the rest of the season.

If it is a success with no issues then I bet they bring it back in the future.

Can you imagine having the ability to move the 3-point line? An opposing player thinks he is shooting a 3 only for the line to move behind him?

I know it will mot be used that way but it would still be fun.

I had heard talk about it but I did not know if it was for real or not. I would like to watch their BBM to see what it looks like.

They might on a limited basis. I can't imagine them using it officially during the season though.

They’ve used it for the NBA all star game. That’s the only time I’ve seen it.

Would this have to be cleared by the NCAA for regular-season use?

So do they just lay the glass panels on top of the existing floor?

So what? I heard we're offering free corn dogs to the first hundred people to show up for our game.

Probably not. I've installed courts before and the company probably requires the floor to be removed and the panels are installed on the arena's sub-floor. Just a quick google research and these are layered glass like lamination with a section that has LED lights sandwiched between them. There is probably a subfloor section at the bottom of the LED glass panels that sits on the arena's sub-floor then it gets leveled. This thing is essentially a TV. It's crazy.

Meh, as if the Oregon floor isn't bad enough. They can 86 this along with the stupid light shows at football games.

I know, I know.

They interviewed the guy installing it said they had and UK was the first call he got from a college team.

Can you hear it? It's coming, and it's going to be epic. Don't forget to watch the premier program and greatest tradition in college basketball take the court tonight under a new leader, 7pm ET on the SEC Network.

Here's the ASB glass floor with the original Rupp Arena logo.
