Now, CKD himself is telling you that Vandy beat us because they controlled the time of possession, stayed in 3rd and manageable, moved the chains, and absolutely wore our defense out.
The defense allowed 33 points. That was good for the W. Two turnovers including the pick 6, coupled with an inability to control the TOP is a very simple formula for losing a football game.
Defense is dead everywhere, and it has been for some time. Offense wins football games now, and that has been the case for some time. Not sure why people are acting shocked about it. You have to outscore your opponent, and a big part of that is keeping your offense ON the field and your defense OFF the field.
The question is why cant DeBoer figure this out ? Why is the offense not capable of matching our opposition in TOP, plays run, first downs, etc. ? We have phenom at WR, RB, and a good OL so... figure it out coach.
First coaches meeting of the week needs to address how the feature back gets five carries.

Because Deboer is good, he’s not great. He’s just not. From the obvious discipline issues to total lack of preparation and adjustments. Might as well accept it.

Go watch the debacle that’s on X. Moore refusing to come off the field. Womack begging him to and Deboer turning the other way. Then post game Deboer saying he feels better in the locker room after. Hahahahaha what a fricking joke

Because it wasn't? 3 of our TD drives were 7, 8, and 9 plays. One was 5 plays but we started close to the 50. Only big play drive was the 4 play drive with the bomb TD to Williams. Pretty much same story against UGA. We've put together multiple long complete drives the past 2 weeks. What do you want Williams and the others to do? Run out of bounds instead of scoring?

Right ? The defense is quickly becoming like what we saw at USC the last two seasons under Lincoln Riley. They were the reason for the loss yesterday. Not the offense. The pick six was bad luck.

Coach speak after a loss is irrelevant to me.
What do you really expect any losing Coach to say about his team?
Especially if they should have won.
I couldn't care less what type of word salad he barfs up to the media right after a loss.
What i do care about is to see how this team responds next Saturday

Yep.
If you push a player too hard beyond his comfort zone he can just do what that UNLV QB did: redshirt and transfer at the end of the year. Saban could handle the attitudes (for the most part) because of his reputation of getting players into the NFL and of winning championships. They respected him.
I don't think the players respect DeBoer in that same way as this is only his third year overall at a major college program. This is the first time in his career where he has to deal with heavily pampered four and five star athletes. It's not the same as what he dealt with at Washington.

Since the USF game Jalen had confidently and efficiently run the full offense. He's made throws you and others said he was incapable of making. He's hit short to intermediate routes, throws over the middle, timing routes, checkdowns and hot routes to beat blitzes, while continuing to gash defenses with his legs.
But if he makes one mistake, you keep mentioning the pick 6 which wasn't his fault, he's terrible. And when he does well and you can't blame him directly you go out of your way to find something that indirectly places fault on him. Like the offense being too explosive gassed the defense. The defense was gassed because they sucked and couldn't get a stop all game.
That loss yesterday was on the defense and the coaching staff. Not sure why Jalen developing into a good QB irks you so much. That you go so far out of your way to somehow always lay blame at his feet is frankly bizarre.

This all day long. Did the offense play a perfect game? No, but they did more than enough for us to win. The inability to get Vandy - VANDY - off the field on defense was what lost us that game. That was one of the most ill-prepared, poorly-coached defensive performances I've ever seen.
