In defense of LSU and the heat

Teams can’t control the weather and we’re all at the mercy of the TV schedules. What can be controlled is facilities, administration, and logistics.
These games happen. I recall a similar afternoon game for A&M vs Baylor back in 2005 - scorching heat, towels on heads, people passing out left and right. What has changed at Kyle Field since? Massive facilities changes. “Cool zones” aka closed off concessions areas with AC all over the stadium. Announcements throughout the game alerting fans of the location of the cool zones. Outside of the AC, having plenty of shaded, comfortable areas beneath the stands. A text based system to alert medical personnel to any emergency cases.
This is all before thinking about a stadium running out of water, which is incredibly unacceptable.
Tiger Stadium is obviously an incredible venue, but the concessions and general under stands infrastructure is decades behind. It’s an incredibly unfair situation for the Tiger fans and they’re not going to solve attendance issues until these things are resolved to allow fans to properly withstand the elements during non-night games.

Apologies for not wanting opposing fan bases to die.

The commercials are an issue as well. The abc broadcasts have been close to four hours each game. I wouldn’t want to get baked for that long either.

Those east uppers will never be full for 2:30 games.
I've sat in the east upper for a daytime game once. Never again.
You could give me season tickets for that upper and a condo on campus and I wouldn't go to daytime games.

Wasn’t as hot as it was in Norman . I can count numerous times playing in 100 plus degree heat . Last year there was like 14 people carried out on stretchers . I couldn’t even handle it .

Standing for a hot game hung over made it hard to remember to watch the game

What?!
Highs were in the 70s in Norman and OU played a night game.

Even in the worst heat at Kyle with students dropping left and right. We never emptied out like that. Pathetic display.
