Looks like Brian Kelly is looking to address what seemed to be ref bias on missed calls with the head office this week. Specifically an illegal play on a blocked punt that changed the game.

I didn’t watch the game, but it sounds like SC got a little help from the refs, and Kelly isn’t one to let it slide.

Moral of the story:

SEC refs are trash and I'm all for both schools calling them the frick out. Wish they could do more

Bad move by Kelly. Game is over. Weekend is about over. Time to move on.

It's really fricking annoying that the excuse for bad refs is less and less people are willing to do it as if a conference like the SEC or Big 10 doesn't make more than enough to straight up make their own officiating school.

I wish this was more transparent. Questions from a head coach regarding a particular call/no call should be in writing and available to the public. The answer from the SEC should also be in writing and available for all to see.

I have zero clue why they're so protected. Coaches get fined if they are too critical. That's nuts.

Give me a postgame conference stream with the refs answering questions. I'd pay for it to hear questions about some of these calls we've ALL been victim of.

The rule needs to be explained and called evenly. The LSU folks had a picture from last year's Iowa vs. Nebraska game of the exact same kind of jump that was called a penalty.

This , I agree 100% . There is too much money involved for missed calls and incompetent officiating. Some times it’s benefits you and sometimes it doesn’t but it needs to be more transparent about the missed calls

Fans need to push for officials to be paid full time money, even if it means they unionize. Because for a sport that is so professional now, especially with money coming directly from fans, the refs need to be just as professional

You ever hear the Anthony Jordan story?

quote:

Referee Anthony Jordan suspended by the SEC, will not call any league tournament games

Tennessee opened an investigation on him after a lot of calls went against them, but they also had pictures of the ref in LSU gear tho.

SC doesn’t have a smoking gun like that.

I don't think Beamer or Kelly expect anything to happen here.

This is just the most they can do to say "you guys fricking sucked on these plays, I want you to know that" and then move on.

Everyone gets fricked by the refs at one point or another. It is what it is.

But the flags have been flying from SEC refs this year. Inconsistently. They let shite go, then they don’t, then they are too picky, and back to no flags.
