Has Texas State beating Arizona State on espn right now.

He would be a good next coach choice. Except he hired Chad Morris to be on staff and that is a real set back.

If we just put Walmart and Tysons name on the field we better be headed to Oregon to show Phil Knight what real money does.

GJ Kinne would be the final nail. Hunter has to go big splash like he did with Cal. I still think Sam retires after this year and becomes an NIL fundraiser.

Who is the big hire right now?
Kirby? Never gonna happen.
Lanning? Locked down.
Urban Meyer? He done.
Kiffin? Blew that shot…
Rhule? Take quite a bit of money..
Tom Herman? Ok, but not a home run hire anymore
Norvell? FSU might pay for the plane ticket right now..

He’d be a tough sell just given the Morris connection. Don’t think HY can risk another unproven hire given the Pittman experiment.

But idk who else is a realistic target that would be a safe bet.

The most Arkansas thing to do would be to hire Odom and hope that Petrino stays. Not sure how they left things when he bolted for A&M after being at UNLV for a month.

I like Williams and Petrino. It’ll be a shame if we lose one or both after the season though it’s obvious our ceiling with Pittman is 8 wins.

Pittman is going 6-6 and beating Toledo in a shitty bowl game for 7-6 coming back for another season.

I fear a 7 win auto extension… wish everyone would quit saying Pittman will retire. Dude is fat man and fat dudes never pass up a gravy train.

Hmm, I'm fat.. and I never choose the gravy train at the expense of other folks man. Although I am much skinnier than I once was...

And I have seen plenty of skinny coat riders in my lifetime.

But, It has been discussed in several higher level circles that he has stated retirement is a consideration withing the next couple of years at most. But he wants to right the ship, so to speak, first. May be crap, but this isn't some lower level bs. FWIW!

Such a nice guy, we will let him retire on his own terms, right after he destroys the program again.

Unless we just blow the rest of our schedule, it would be a mistake to replace the current staff in season or after. A ton of quality players returning for next season. Sam has a very good staff and one of the best play callers ever to coach football.

all of this....

And, Sam is liked by every coach he has worked with or for, other than possibly Bert. He is well respected in the coaching profession. Firing outright may make some of the fans feel better... but .. what about the LT effects towards finding future coaches?

The way our retainage has gone that past couple of years you can bank on 30+ hitting the portal at the end of the season Pittman or no Pittman.

That may be but I would be surprised if we have any top guys leave. We will also most likely replace white better quality than what leaves.

Sam has been given plenty of time. Lots of coaches won't give a shite, especially if they're being paid the right amount and have NIL support.
