I didn't like the hire. I thought it was a gimmick to pacify our money guys. I still feel that. My hope is he can build the roster and then eventually figure out how to put a winning product on the field. I don't like what I see and have a difficult time respecting a guy who consistently dodges and blames everyone else. Nevertheless, he has the job, he'll get a couple more years at the least and if it doesn't work, I hope we can take the keys away from the same bad influences that I suspect are behind our carousel of poor football hires. But... they have the money, so probably not.

Not ready to write him off yet but he's got a lot of questions to answer and in a hurry. I think Arkansas will be a barometer of his ability to right the ship. I think if he puts out the same product he did with cal, there will be a lot of upset folks.

We’ll never be a good program with him. But, we are stuck because we have made so many poor choices before this. It is what it is. It sucks but we have to keep the scumbag for a few more years.
Maybe he’ll keep recruiting well and we’ll luck up with the next coach and they’ll have something to build on.

I’m not holding my breathe.

I think we are okay.

If he wasnt recruiting well I'd be melting hard.

TTsTowel, Poker, and Pete have seen that and would acknowledge.

Give him his three plan and then ride from there.

I didn't want him because I thought he was a shittier gameday version of Gus. I started to believe he might be successful given the recruiting success, which was/is our number 1 issue.

Didn't realize just how much a shittier version of Gus he is on gameday. It is bizarre how we're speed running the Gus tenure right now. OC shuffle, who is actually calling the plays, outside commentators saying they've never seen anything like our scheme, etc, etc...

We needed Lane or someone like that who runs a modern offense. We've got yet another coach stuck in 2014 and that shite doesn't work anymore.

If Freeze can't get it done, I am not sure it can happen at AU in modern cfb

Hopefully we don’t give him a raise or extension the first time beats uga or bama but we still go 7-5

We’ll be lucky to win 8 games ever with Freeze.

Recruiting is great. But he is like a dog chasing a car, won’t know what to do if he catches it.

The guy is a gimmicky scheme guy, not unlike Gus. And a LOT of those guys faded out a long time ago while Hugh hid out at little Liberty. I don't know why he's some measure of coaching success. Gus beat Saban more than Hugh did and we're not crowning him as the top of the mountain.

Yeah there's nothing to support this. Freeze was not a hot commodity. We hired him because Lane turned us down at the 11th hour.

He did it at Ole Miss before Ole Miss was a portal destination for one.

He also promised some passing offense then. That has been disappointing, but keep the faith people.

We can always circle back to Deion if we need to :rimshot:

Recruiting is going to be his saving grace for a fourth season I think - both recruiting on its own and it’s translation to play on the field. He is undoubtedly recruiting better and more comprehensively than any other coach we’ve had in a tiny window of time Unfortunately for him, he’s also had managed to rack up some of our worst/most disappointing losses in the past 10 years - NMSU, bama, Maryland, Cal - in that same short time period.

Last year I thought once he had a QB he would be better so I was hoping he’d get one. Well, he didn’t do that and it may come back to bite him. And now that I think about it, those losses I mentioned really should have been avoided regardless of QB play. Sure a better QB would help but I’m just beginning to think he’s not that great of a coach.

We’re gonna be fine if he can land this ‘25 class and have a big time QB in it.

The talent gap should not have factored in those embarrassing losses. We have talent to go toe to toe with NMSU, Maryland and Cal. What’s missing is the “dog” mentality and some fight. The last time i saw the fight was against Texas A&M in 2022 with Caddy. I am in no way advocating we should have hired Cadillac. I am just saying that was the last time i saw fire instead of a corporate game day- business trip mentality. We need to get mean. Punch someone in the throat. Lose-maybe- but fight for it.

Yeah- next year, the year after. I want to see some fight in this season. If we do have the gap he talks about them fire them up and make them believe they can do anything. You know?! Don’t keep making everyone believe we can’t- whip them into believing they will.
