Next week's ranked games have lost a little luster

Nothing against Texas or Tennessee... those are two really good Week 2 opponents.
Sadly both Michigan and NC State looked dreadful in their season openers. If they don't fix some issues neither is going to give either of the "UT's" a game.
Michigan was in a dog fight with Fresno State until the 4th quarter; only up by 10 going into the 4th against a team that was 4-4 in MWC play last year. A defending national champ shouldn't be struggling late against an MWC team.
It's true that you can struggle against a mid-major and somehow turn it into a really good season (see Alabama last year), but generally speaking those are the exceptions and not the rule. Texas should win by 2 scores, barring injury.
NC State was performing even worse, losing to Western Carolina 21-17 going into the 4th until NC State just overwhelmed them to take a 38-21 win. Western Carolina DID finish ranked last year... in FCS. Ranked P4 teams are not supposed to struggle against FCS programs.
Through no fault of UT or... UT, the games no longer look like really good match-ups but rather games the SEC teams should win.
Which would be good for the conference, considering the outcome of the ranked vs ranked match-ups this past weekend.

I think both could still be pretty competitive. Both UTs should be solid favorites, for sure

I think we will murder NC state. With that being said, Oklahoma will be tough, Florida we should win but we never do despite being the better team. Alabama I’m not sure how I feel about yet, Georgia will be a loss. I’m hoping for 10-2 losses against Bama and Georgia

You can try and diminish the match up all you want, but Texas going to the Big House in week 2 trumps any and every OOC game the rest of the SEC scheduled. If we pull out a victory (which I think we will) it will be the most important win for any team the rest of the way.

NCState isn't the kind of team to lay down.
They'll get overwhelmed in the end, but not before I've had too many stress-shots.

Michigan is the team that decided to struggle against Fresno State. Not sure how that's my fault.

Bammer's would be terrified of a week 2 michigan matchup

If it weren't for the coaching change I'd say Michigan might have just been looking past Fresno State to Texas. When they finally had to turn it on at the end to win, they did, so that's a potentially good sign. I guess we'll see.

We played Rice before Alabama last year and while we didn't look as bad as Michigan vs. Fresno State, it wasn't confidence inspiring. I suspect Michigan has been preparing for Texas all summer and will look like a different team on Saturday.

Agreed week 2 is a disappointment but good 4 plus Bama for Bama fans the abc triple and Texas good not at all great
