For the Mizzou LSU game we were supposed to meet up with people that we know from Mizzou to go tailgate. The game was at 11. We asked what time we should get out there thinking 5 or 6am. They said 9 or 930.

When we got there early the only people tailgating were LSU fans.

Reminds me of my only trip to Death Valley in 2000 for Houston at LSU. My wife is an LSU grad so we drove down on Friday and stayed with her college roommate and her husband. Woke up Saturday morning around 8:00 and it's raining sideways outside. Kickoff is 6:00pm. I turned to the husband and say, "Welp. I guess we aren't tailgating today." He says, "The Frick we're not! Get dressed."

A half hour later we're at Albertson's with a cart full of booze and food. We go to their normal spot across from the Indian mounds. There's already three tents strapped together with bungee cords. A pickup truck backed up under one of them with a keg of Turbodog and a tv in the back. Extension cord running into the window of the nearest building. For the rest of the day it poured rain and little old ladies kept pulling up in their Lincoln Town Cars and handing out pots and casserole dishes full of the best food on the planet.

By the time kickoff came around, we were drunk and full, and the rain had stopped. Rondell Mealy went wild in that game and in the post game interview, he said he felt good and "relaxative" before the game.
