1. Their opening game is tomorrow.
I lied about the rest of the reasons.

I don’t miss Thursday games. The only advantage I liked was watching all the games Saturday.

I’ll agree it’s a stupid day for a game, but waiting until Saturday is rough. Feels like the week drags.
However College Gameday doesn’t hit as hard when you’re not playing.

We should all be jealous of that cream puff schedule.

Thurs game for opener is ok especially if you have a tough opponent the next game. Gives you a extra couple days

It’s a stupid game from week 2 on, it’s not a short week this week, they’ve had since Feb to get ready. Two extra prep days ain’t saving anybody that needs saving at this point.

We should all be jealous of that cream puff schedule
It has felt this way for a while now, everyone in the sec gets an absolute gauntlet for a schedule, except two to three random teams every year who get Willy wonkas golden ticket to an easy af schedule.

I would hate for LSU to open on a Thursday. That night is for CUSA and the poors.

Did you know that Missouri had 13 straight losing seasons starting in 1984?
The program died. Those of us around sat through years of games that drew 25,000 fans in a Soviet era stadium. Never on TV. No lights. Few wins. Some of us stuck around.
The first hint that the university might care about football was in 1992. They agreed to our first ever night football game. They hauled in temporary lights. The game was on ESPN. Mizzou was never on ESPN. Mizzou lost, but the atmosphere was great. We never had fun. People got excited.
Larry Smith came in from USC & tried to change the culture. He did. In 1997 Mizzou traveled to Colorado & got its sixth win & became bowl eligible. Felt like a dream
The next week Mizzou was a 48 point underdog to #1 Nebraska. A packed stadium, lights, ABC prime time. Mizzou led with a minute to go. A fluke play at the end killed the dream, but it felt like change had come.
The rest isn’t gaudy. We finally picked off Nebraska in 2003 to end a 25 year drought. Gary Pinkel got us within a game of playing for the national championship twice starting in 2007. We won the north in the Big 12 in 2007, 2010, & 2012 in a division that had been dominated by Nebraska for decades.
So when you’re a fan & you lived through 13 losing seasons, 77-0 vs OU, the fifth down, the flea kicker, never on tv, 25,000 fans on a dreary November afternoon, to now? This is a lot more fun and you can’t yuck our yum.

My favorite memory of LSU's only Thursday Opener that I can remember. This would be illegal and probably carry an assault charge by today's standards.

How old are you? Because we literally opened on a Thursday in 2007 when we were preseason ranked #2 in the Nation.

Only on a Thursday because Miss State was a doormat, and the matchup was shitty.

I don't like Thursday games so that's not #1.

So you don't like Thursday games...
What did Thursday games do to you that caused this enmity?.

Whoa. You are back from e-jail?
That was a good long break. Must have been a good meltdown.

They won a conference co-championship less than 60 years ago.
Their most decorated player came in 5th for heisman
All time record of .540 is sort of winning
