What type of start to the season would it take to bring back hope to the fan base?

It’s obvious that most fans are in a dark place when it comes to football, but we all know quickly hope could spring back. Would going 2-0 and simply beating okie lite bring some slobbering back to the kool-aid trough? Or perhaps following it up with a victory over Auburn? Curious to see where the mood is with most?

Starting 2-0 would garner a shite ton of excitement. Still, I don't trust Pittman as as a head coach and to not make terrible game time decisions. Maybe having BMFP on staff will help him to be a better game day coach. We will see.

Just beating Okie state doesn't do much for me. We beat Auburn and aTm then I'd be interested.

I read a article by Otis yesterday, (yeah, yeah, I know) however he made some sense..

1. The offense was atrocious under Enos, and with BP there should be some major improvement.
2. The O Line has a MUCH better coach, with Pittman also pitching in there.
3. The Defensive staff stayed together after being a much better D to begin with last season.
4. On paper, we are improved talent wise.
5. We lose several games by very little points, this can't keep up, right?
6. Sam has BP to lean on during game situations, like he did Odom.
7. King will sacrifice a goat prior to every game...

Depends will we continue to mismanage the clock and shite the offense down in the 3rd quarter? If so I foresee this happening forever.

we’ve done this for a literal decade now. I don’t know why it would change now.

Weird, OSU is preseason #17 while Auburn is unranked. OSU is by far a bigger win.

Okay well we've beat some big12 type teams many times in the past all while getting assblasted by Auburn 9 times out of ten. The country takes notice if we beat Auburn. If we beat the Pokes it's not that big a deal.

Auburn sucks balls no one in the country is noticing two unranked teams or giving a shite.

OSU is actually ranked, so would show up on the ticker and have highlights on ESPN which they do not do for unranked teams/matchups. Literally the opposite of what you said.

When we never beat Auburn it's notable if we beat them in my opinion..
Look if you just wanna compare the opponents by ranking and call the highest ranked one the biggest win, fine. What's the point of having a discussion then? We can look up the highest ranked teams. All I know is nobody picks us to beat Auburn or aTm because we basically never do it. We never play oSu so who knows

When you specifically say national attention then yes, rank matters the most as I just told you ranked matchups get highlights on the TV, talked about on shows, shown on the ticker on ESPN that only shows Top 25 scores/updates, unranked do not. Big difference between that and 6-6 Auburn no one at all cares about.

Id argue nationally if you asked random Joe blow on the street to pick between Hogs and Pokes or Hogs and Auburn a lot more people think we have a shot to beat OSU regardless of ranking. A lot of CFB is name recognition and Auburn is a tier above OSU.

And I'll remind you ranked games get national coverage unranked games do not.

I think it’ll say a lot about this season how we do against Oklahoma state because I believe gundy is a damn good coach

We may need to all kick in and help pay for the goats.

Beat Texas to pull 5-5. That may be late in the season to be about the start, but any hope in the early season is begging for disappointment.

Auburn has much better prestige than OSU and beating them means more.

Auburn won a NC recently but OSU will never be anything except little brother to Oklahoma in a little brother conference.

To bring back any semblance of hope they need to win 6+ games for the next several years. Starting 2-0 means nothing with our recent history.

I think it would shock this fan base if they knew we are only ahead of Vandy in conference wins since Bobby took his tumble. And the gap is tight.

We have also lost more games to non-P5 teams than any P5 program outside of Kansas in the same time frame.
