. . . Mykel Williams and CJ Allen are first team All-SEC.

If this happens, UGA will have had the best defense in the country, and IMO that's enough to have the best chance to win it all.

**This is obviously assuming good health.

If Stackhouse is All SEC and Etienne rushes for 1,000 yards.

I’ll feel great about our chances this year if we can get into the back stretch of our schedule without losing multiple major contributors to injury. Last year was rough. Ladd and Brock being banged up against Bama kept us out of the playoffs.

1) Our defensive seconday covers and tackles nearly as well as last year's group did, which means they'll have to mature quickly.
2) Our defensive coaches set the pass rush loose.

if we shut out Clemson in the opener 41-0. Don't even let them cross the 50.

1. Health.. plain and simple, we know players get banged up throughout the season, but no major injuries, and no long term absences throughout a group of the team!

2. The backend of the defense plays up to the standard. Last year the first and second level of the defense was not to the Kirby standard, the third level was relied on heavily, a lot of those guys are in the NFL, these younger, inexperienced guys need to mature quickly!

If Ladd stays healthy …oh wait.

If we have 50% more “pass rush” than last year.

From what I'm reading, besides Mykell and Walker, things look legit especially with the freshman Q. Johnson - dude would be hard to keep off the field.

our receivers exceed expectations.

-I'll never be worried about defense with kirby here. Sure there have been hiccups (2020 had some blips) but overall it's not a concern in general
-Our DL, linebackers, and malaki are all studly. A few spots in the secondary are either inexperienced (other CB spot) or not as talented (dan at safety) but in general, again, I'm not worried abotu kirby's ability to coach the shite out of people
-Carson is proven and excellent
-RodRob's ascendance has been great to see, coulpe that with a proven SEC back in etienne, branson recovering ahead of schedule and the hype about frazier and I'm no worried about RB
-I'm not the biggest searels guy but the OL has more than enough talent and experience to be a force

That leaves pass catchers. In the early Kirby era we had a handful of dudes that were all what you'd call really good; mecole, ridley, wims, holloman. A bit later we had some good guys to go along with a truly elite one (pickens). Lately we've had the best TE in CFB history to go along with other damn good guys like AD, burton (frickin loser), and ladd. Where are we this year? Lovett is probably the headliner from a national persepctive but hasn' really seemed to break the ceiling yet. UGA fans know about dillon bell who has the ability to be terrific. Rara is gone. Arian is basically a speedster that hasn't really done a whole heck of a lot overall. Young looks to be the Wims type of player but hasn't taken a snap here yet. Then a whole bunch of young guys who truly haven't done a single thing . Honestly it's a big worrisome.

IF we can have a handful of those guys step up then I think the sky's the limit for this team. But man SOMEONE has got to show out. Heading into 2021 nobody had a clue how good Brock could really be but he proved it right out of the gates against clemson even without scoring a TD. We discovered quickly that year how incredible he was. In 2022 we knew ladd was going to be a big contributer but didn' really know just HOW good he was but he proved it quickly. That's one thing I'm looking most forward to gainst clemson, who's the guy that we're aware of that's on our collective radar that's ready to bust the door down and really have himself a year.

Colbie Young takes the X role letting Dillion Bell be Deebo 2.0.

Jah Jarrett, and Nnamdi Ogboko step up at 0 tech freeing the rest to rotate at the 3/5 techs

I like this one. I feel like Colbie Young is the player who could unlock the offense and take the offense from really good to legendary.

If Bell can really stick his foot in the slash role, I might have to spring for an extra game this season. It's going to be fun to watch.

We stop starting games off slow and playing our best football right out of the gate and not waiting till the second half. We did that too many times last year. True, we stormed back and won most games convincingly, but this team has a habit of sleepwalking through the first 2 or 3 series and then suddenly turning it on. I think they think they can just show up with all of their talent and go out there and steamroll everybody right out of the gate without putting much effort into it. Then we get down a TD or 2 and they suddenly realize...."Hey, we actually have to PLAY to beat this team!" We need to come out of the gate roaring and crush the other team quickly so we can start resting those starters and building more depth. JMHO.

With all due respect I could not disagree with you more.
You describe a team that is not well coached, you could not possibly be more wrong in my opinion.

Will Kirby put his defense on the field first after winning a coin toss- yes. Is Kirby the best sideline coach on game day? Maybe not, but to suggest the Dawgs come out “sleepwalking,” is completely incorrect.

A lot of this is chess. Offensively, you poke and prod and poke and prod to see how the defense does this or that, then you dial up some shite to smoke them.

Pay close attention to Anthony Evans and Nate Frazier. All reports say they’re “dudes”. Now that RaRa is gone, that opens the door for Evans. I seem to remember him returning a punt in the SECCG and remembering mumbling “that dude is really fast”.
