That's a weird little search movie you put together.

Mississippi internet goes down at times. It’s a 3rd world country.

We actually have some of the best internet in the entire country. I used to work for a few multinational corporations and the bigger cities and bigger states really struggle to keep up. I could get a gig fiber to a farm house in Mississippi but would struggle to get 10Mb service to a place on the beach near San Francisco or a store in Chicago proper.
The places with bigger governments have far more regulations to follow and a lot more red tape to hop through so it takes forever to get anything built if you can get it built at all.

This is just one provider and this is just backbone.
I can actually get a 10Gbps connection at my house. Can you?

Most states are going to look like this. Got to have a way to backhaul cell tower traffic.
Would be more interesting if you could compare percentage of households that have access to speeds greater than 300Mbps down.

Any resident of the county I live in in MS has access to gigabit fiber internet And it's a rural county of 16,000. MS actually has some of the best internet access in the country. And we just got another $1.2 B of federal money to build out the remaining last mile connections

Man in New York digs down 10 feet and finds and ancient network of cables. He determines 100 years ago the state had an advanced communications network.
Not to be outdone a man in California digs down 20 feet and finds the same. He determines California had a sophisticated communications network 200 years ago.
Seeing this, a man in Mississippi digs down 30 feet and finds nothing. He determines Mississippi had already gone wireless 300 years ago

I have 25mbps service in Inverness for like 60 bucks a month. I can get 50 but don’t need it

Mississippi had been pushing fiber to be available at every home for a long time. CSpire handles the brunt of it. AT&T is also building out a shite ton of fiber. We also have Zayo (longhaul) and the electric co-ops that service a lot of the most rural areas.
I do this for a living. Mississippi is way ahead of almost every other state.

I worked on building a lot of this and build more every day. Edited to add we have more underground than most other states who are still hanging cable on poles. Trashy.
