From the 2021 class:

Tommy Brockermeyer- medically retired
James Brockermeyer- TCU- projected starter at center
Agiye Hall- Enrolled at UCF- not listed on projected depth chart
Camar Wheaton- projected 3rd string RB at SMU
JoJo Earle- projected backup WR at TCU
Christian Leary- projected starting WR at Georgia Tech
Terrence Ferguson- projected starter at Florida State
Monkell Goodwine- projected backup at South Carolina
Kadarius Calloway- projected backup RB at Cal
Kendrick Blackshire- projected backup at UTSA
Ian Jackson- projected backup at UTSA
Anquin Barnes- projected backup at Colorado
Kaine Williams- projected backup at Nebraska
Jacorey Brooks- projected starter at Louisville

Certified hits from this class:
JC Latham
Dallas Turner
Kool-Aid Mckinstry
Terrion Arnold
Deontae Lawson
Jalen Milroe
Jaeden Roberts

The hit rate was decent- with potential to add a few more (Keenan, Smitty, Koht) but man there were a lot of busts in this class

How are you a backup at Colorado as a transfer

Those WR evaluations…. Yikes.

At least Brooks did some good for us. But comprehensively, what a whiff at that position for this recruiting class.

The 2020 WR recruiting class was just as bad.

The 2019 had Metchie and that was about it.

Wild that Metchie was basically the only WR from a 3 class stretch that truly panned out.

Goes to show you how truly bad the wr coach was at evaluating/coaching wr's.

There was always speculation that the studs that we had from 2017-2020 was going to cause top WRs to not want to come in and compete against those guys, but most, if not all, of the busts were 4 stars.

Some of these are an example of how the transfer portal hurts as many players as it helps. Agiye Hall was seeing playing time as a freshman at Bama and now his football career is all but over. Jacorey Brooks is the same way, although at least he's playing for a mid ACC program. Even some of the bench warmers here ultimately would have been better off being a backup at Alabama rather than at UTSA.

JoJo Earle is a frustrating one because he had the requisite speed and athleticism but could never figure out how to carry the ball. I caught a TCU game last year and saw him...sure enough, he fumbled right away.
