I would bring up that Fayetteville routinely lands in the top 3 places to live in the United States and has done so for quite some time now but...

Frankly there are too many of you moving up here as is. Put us at 20th behind some college towns that have long since left the SEC.

Fayetteville is in my personal top 5. I threw this list together sort of at random to spark some debate

I’m an Aggie, and I love CS, but we aren’t top 3.

I don’t like large Urban cities so give me Athens, Auburn, Oxford, or Starkville type cities. College towns usually have plenty to do.

I've been to 14 of the 16 locations ... and it is my opinion that each of place has things that set it apart... both positively and negatively.

I think Auburn, Oxford, Athens and Fayetteville should be at the top.

Stark Vegas, Tuscaloosa, and Gainesville are kind of next tier.

Nashville is a cool city.

Never been to Columbia or Lexington.

College Station and Norman are basically both just suburbs now.

Baton Rouge and Austin should be at the bottom.

I have been to all but both Columbia's...

(Nice places to visit without being huge cities)
1. Athens
2. Oxford
3. Fayetteville
(nice places to visit but don't necessarily feel like college towns)
4. Nashville
5. Austin
(seem like okay places to live)
6. Auburn
7. Tuscaloosa
8. Lexington
9. Gainesville
10. Knoxville
11. Norman
(boring)
12. Starkville
13. College Station
(legit seems like a bad place to live)
14. Baton Rouge

This is a pretty solid list although I’d move Lexington up a tier, Norman down one tier, and Austin down three tiers.

Norman down to the boring tier- no slight, boring is just fine to live there.

I’m just very disappointed with Austin as a city and that’s why I ding them to the lowest tier. It’s so pretty there but they e managed to negate that beauty with horrible policy.

Columbia, SC is kind of nicer version of Baton Rouge with the campus feeling more like a mini- Texas... being downtown next to the capitol.

Columbia, MO is like Gainesville, or Tuscaloosa without the rough parts.

As far as Norman being "boring"...

Norman has the advantage of having a small town campus atmosphere despite being located a 1.5 million metro area. In a vaccum, Norman doesn't vibe with the energy of a lot of other college towns...but that is because people are routinely in OKC doing stuff.

Baton Rouge (city) is a dump and will get you killed if you wander too far off campus in the wrong direction. The campus is great though!

I haven't been to Austin in nearly 15 years fwiw. I do think, despite its population, Lexington feels more like a college town than Nashville/Austin imo. It's similar to Knoxville in that regard

Norman is 16? I'll admit it could improve, and plans have been approved to make it even better
