I think it's going to be:

1. Dawgs
2. Ags
3. Tide

Thoughts?

One of these is not like the other two.

Overall? Yes. But our defense was easily top 5 in the SEC last year, and it should be a lot better this year, especially against the pass.

Alabama will be good defensively. But we are shifting to the 4-2-5 so there will be growing pains. Especially with such a youthful secondary.

If Texas DL holds up we could be in top 3. We’ll be better across the board except DL. DE’s and secondary should be better.

Until A&M does something noteworthy we aren’t going to be considered the top 3 in anything.

I couldn’t care less about stats. We need hardware.

I think the Aggies go 10-2 with marquee bookend wins against ND and TX.

A & M is always great in the preseason. It's the actual playing of games that kill them.

Miami torched the A&M defense last year.

I hear you. But you have to wonder how can the Texas Defense not miss two first rounders at DT?

Opponents will have better success running the ball and the pass rush won’t be the same.

You should hope so, weren’t you 115th against the pass last year?

They sure did. Pass defense was atrocious. But coaching was the bigger issue over talent.

Two things will he different:

Elko won’t run so many 3 DL sets to negate the A&M DL advantage like Durkin did.

Secondary has much better depth this season.

Maybe 2yrs ago? Doesn’t matter. It’s been a complete overhaul, plus young player depth should show.

Texas pass rush should be outstanding this year with transfer Trey Moore, 5* freshman Collin Simmons, emerging Colton Vasek , and continued development of Ethan Burke. What use to be a weak spot is arguably the most stacked on defense.

“Returning production” is one of the most useless stats.
