It was a done deal, then the inmates running the asylum (TexAgs) got wind of it.

He turned Ags down. We offered to pay him anything he wanted. He just said no. We are still reeling from his decision.

Do you feel better now?

From what I recall A&M fans went on a nuclear meltdown when his name came out. Supposedly prominent boosters were pulling money, season tickets were being cancelled, etc.

So they hired a coach from another basketball school with worse credentials? Makes sense

Bjork tried to hire stoops - the BOR and big boosters said hell no after TexAgs riots.

Stoops didn’t turn anyone down, Jimbo lite got turned down by the people that really decide.

I had forgotten about it.

But now it brings me to the question
of, when is the last time Kentucky had a better football coach than basketball coach? Do we go back to the Bear

If I were an Aggie, I'd rather Elko over Stoops for various reasons.

Just my opinion.

His assistants turned it down as much as the aggy fanbase did. Both were no bueno.

I don’t think it’s a shot directed at Stoops at all.

Elko was the fan favorite when he was the DC.

He knows the place, knows the players, did a great job in College Station.

He was expected to be the target. So the Bjork offering Stoops rumor was a shock to everyone.

If I were an Aggie, I'd rather Elko over Stoops for various reasons.

Elko needed one season to have duke beating Clemson and competing against fsu and nd. Mark stoops just closed out his what tenth year with a loss to Clemson. You could be on to something
