He is New Orleans, purple and gold is the color of Mardi Gras. He is just trying to fit in, trying to match the unique culture of the city.

Mardi Gras isn't until 2 months from now.

IT's his secret way of letting LSU fans know that he misses TIGER NATION :)

No but those colors are part of the culture of the city. I don't think he purposely wears purple and gold to piss off fans from Bama. I think its just a excuse to wear those colors since he hasn't worn them in a while.

A few observations. I haven't watched a NS presser this year.
First of all he seems a little more comfortable in his own skin than he did last year. He seem REALLY nervous in all the pressers I watched last year.
Second that last answer was interesting at best. When asked if Ala was the ideal place him to be he doesn't just directly answer the question.
He starts by saying "I don't think uh uh I think Ala is a great place to be" he went on and on about how college football is the place for "The Sabans". He says (in this order) We loved our explerience here (meaning LSU, not Ala), we loved our experience at MS and we've loved our experience at ALA but we found out how college football can have an impact on a young man etc.
Lastly I thought it was also interesting that at the beginning he comments on how he has been in great games in NO and then goes on to say secondly that the U of A has also been in great
games there and "actually won a NC here". It is probably nit picking but it sounds like he separates himself from U of A and the team.
Oh on on the purple and gold tie/jacket, he DOES seem to wear that a lot. Must be because of all his friends in La that he talks about.

Scoop, Saban doesn't give a damn about LSU. If anything his gold and white tie is to show he wants Georgia Tech to beat LSU. I don't know why you worry about him and LSU so much.

I'll be honest....
When LSU gets rid of Miles in a couple of years I'm gonna be nervous until they hire a coach.
