In a disagreement with my cousin from ascension parish over Jayden Daniels. Admittedly, I didn’t watch a whole lot of lsu games unless they were playing the hogs. ? Is can Daniels go through all of his progressions before he runs. I seem to remember him doing like one read and running if it the first option wasn’t open. My cousin said last year he was reading all his progressions before running. NFL scouts said different. What is y’all’s take?

He's not an elite NFL QB and will never be... watch. End of story.

His first year at LSU he would be run first throw second. Didn't read through progressions particularly well.

His second year he was progressions first and run after, unless it was a designed run. He got coached up, had better chemistry with some great receivers, and got a lot better.

He definitely had to take over some games and go off script because of the terrible defense.

Can he excel in the NFL? We don't know yet. If he has good coaching and continues to develop, he could be really good.

He might not be, but to say this before he’s taken a snap in the NFL is ignorant.

Bama's defense hurt him last year bad. He will see much better defenses every week in the NFL. He's good at improvising and using his feet to set up big passing stats and seems like he's made if glass.. It won't be that easy next level.

JD can throw more accurately with his eyes closed than Tebow could with his eyes open, and Manziel is a druggie.

He goes through his progressions first, then runs, unless there's a big enough gap in the secondary and a way for him to bust a big run 1-2 seconds after the snap. He's hyper-vigilant and has incredible reflexes. He will have growing pains, but I think he's gonna be a damn good NFL QB. NFL trainers will probably help him add at least another 10-12 pounds of muscle to help with the added wear he'll get from NFL contact. I really doubt it slows him down much. He's the most natural runner I've seen come through LSU. You can't teach that type of twitch and fluid running style. You either have it or you don't. Hope the best for him, he's been a great ambassador for LSU.

ETA: NFL defenses will likely use the same scheme A&M used. They really limited him until he got going in the second half.

Turner would be executed on the field under NFL rules after that play

He should have been suspended under NCAA rules.

1 read and run, was an accurate assessment for the 2022 season.
2023, He was much better. I honestly, did not expect it, but he was lightyears better in 23, than 22.

On a hit (dirty or not) that would have gotten Dallas Turner a huge arse fine in an NFL game these days. Jayden Daniels torched Bama both times he played them and I think Bama fans would agree with that.

"I've had multiple people this week bring up unprompted, like, 'I'm kind of scared to death of what Washington could be with Jayden Daniels because he's got the high-end running ability, like some of these other quarterbacks we've seen come in, but he is more advanced as a passer'," Fowler reported. "Like, it was brought up to me to comp with Lamar Jackson. Maybe not quite as good of a runner as Jackson was, but good enough, but a better passer at this stage of his care

He's a serviceable passer at best esp. in the NFL. I suspect he will improve though. His legs were what won him the Heisman.
