Is Texas REALLY that much different from Aggie or pre-2021 Georgia?

Take out 2005 and they had not had a consensus NC in football since the 70s. I’d argue Texas is basically Ole Miss with oil money.

Nobody cares about baseball unless something funny happens to someone you hate anyway. Like the Arkansas WS loss.

You're clearly a RECENT Arkansas fan if you believe this.

I'm a baseball fan, but that was a good one.

Practically identical to Georgia pre-Kirby.

1 championship in the last 50 years on the back of a Herculean college football legend.

Georgia is a far superior program currently now though, after the damage Kirby has done.

UT is a massive institution. Huge athletics and endowment.

The fact that they have one football title in that time is a far bigger failure than Georgia having 3 in that time.

Only explanation for Texas A&M is a deal with the devil in 1939 that they've been paying for ever since.

What happened in 2021 and thereafter when Georgia had their main target in the head coaching position?

Texas has more top 3 finishes in football in the last 6 months than A&M has had since Hitler invaded Poland

I believe you, even without looking it up. No doubt there has been plenty of football lowpoints under late Mack, Charlie Strong, and even Tom Herman and Sark.

That said, all the things you guys have said about A&M having the resources to compete in the SEC are equally true for Texas. Hopefully we're smarter about how we spend our assets though than with your recent record.

ok.

Texas spent nearly the last 15 years racking up almost as many losing seasons as winning ones in a bullshite conference.

Texas enjoyed a terrific run under Mack Brown. Good for them. That has some relevance today I guess.

And that golden era was followed by an equally long stretch of sucking pretty bad.

And before Mack? Mediocre in the 90s, spent a good chunk getting waxed by the Ags. 90s horns are kind of like A&M in the 2000s. Meh.

80s? Largely mediocre again and spent much of it getting owned by the Ags.

60s and 70s, plenty of success. But who cares? A program that points to accomplishments from 50 years ago is not meaningfully different from a program that hangs its hat on what it did 80 or 90 or 100 years ago. Again, who cares?

I... I sincerely don't even know what this means.

Aren't we talking about baseball? Aren't you an Arkansas fan? Do you really want to get into specific runner up finishes?

The fanbase that just watched their team finish higher in 2023 than any aggie team has finished since the late 1930s

Damn. Got us there. I totally forgot a&m left the big 12 after more than 15 years of winning it every season!

Oh wait... you won it once in 16 total seasons, and your record against Texas was 5-11 (and that's just football)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Texas isn't Alabama in football, but who is? Newsflash, A&M hasn't been great either. That's why you fired Jimbo, Sumlin, etc and paid or are paying them huge sums.

The good news is ya'll get us this year again at last and in College Station to boot. Should be very exciting to watch. Clearly A&M should win by a hundred since they've been SEC-ready for 12 years now.

I guess I'm confused as to what is the point, then. I mean... there have just been sooooooo many hand-wringing posts about those bastard tee yew sips stealing the single greatest asset the aggie athletic department ever had, so... it's easy to get mixed up here in the past few days
