With Godwin as first choice.

I've been a Heefner fan for years. Would be a great hire, but I seriously doubt he'd leave. He's a rarity, it's not all about the money with him (jmo).

Please hire Godwin
Would be a fish out of water there

I think both would be solid hires
I would add TCU coach Saarloos to the mix as well
It worked already

Y’all have a unique culture. Not saying it’s a bad one or anything but Godwin just wouldn’t fit in there.

Strikes me as a blue-collar grinder who just knows ball.
What about A&M is incompatible with that?
Or, what don't I know about him?

I think he’s sawing Godwin seems like a baw and A&M may be the least baw school in the SEC except for Vandy who doesn’t count

Don’t think he’s the type to maximize portal and roster and don’t think he has many if any Texas ties

Godwin is an excellent baseball coach, but he's a Carolina kid through and through. Money talks though.
I'm not sure what sort of NIL era recruiter he is, but again, money talks, even with recruits now.

I remember when LSU was looking Godwin was a name that came up a lot. IIRC, that would have been a decent hire. That's all I got.

A coach that cares about the commitment to the program would fit in.
This sounds like you believe coaches care much more about cheerleaders - and care way less about recruiting base, facilities, and the overall student body and alumni commitment to the program…

As a Texas fan, If I’m honest, Heefner is the one I’d rather not see an Aggie. So…probably the better of the two.
- The guy has good relations here in state
- Proven success at a high level consistently
- If he can do what he does at DBU, given the resources he would have moving to Aggieland, it could be scary good. I would have been 100% on board if the Horns grabbed him. Crazy respect for what he has done at DBU.
Edit for typo

baller move would be to hire David Pierce and his staff - prove to the Uterus of Texa-Austin that it wasn't the coach which was the problem -

Yes please, this would be funny beyond the aggy down dressing of recent days.
Poor aggies

What about Wofford's coach JJ Edwards? Up & Coming young guy that got freaking Wofford into post season his first year and nearly upset LSU had it not been for Milam walking it off.
