Some ACL’s may have to be sacrificed to put a stop to this shite. These cats are getting 1st round MLB money without doing shite. It’s out of control.

It’s the same thing especially for baseball players going from high school to the pros.

I doubt some of these numbers. But regardless this kind of publicity may cause some serious locker room problems.
Glad we never hear numbers being given out for Aggie players. Expect they are well paid anyway. Best to keep the mkney talk quiet.

Who was running around here a few weeks ago bragging about the free Lambos?

I doubt some of these numbers.
Why would you doubt it? We heard that Miami threw 9.5 million at a high school QB and Florida countered with 13 million. Tennessee paid a high school QB 8 million dollars to play for them. Georgia had to pay Carson Beck 4 million to get him to play another year.
We are only 3 years into the now-defined NIL and these kinds of numbers have been tossed around for quite some time.

UGA got a deal based on these numbers.

The QB that received a 9 and 13-million-dollar bid is now sitting on the bench for Georgia. Stay tuned.

The median NFL salary is $860K with an average NFL career of 3.3 years. That means less than half of the guys that make it to the league earn more than 3 mil over the course of their career.
There are 32 NFL teams and 134 FBS schools. Lots of guys had stellar college careers that didn't translate to the NFL.
Is this really going to be sustainable? It's hard to imagine there are that many billboards for small town auto dealerships and insurance agents to be filled; 30 second spots on small media market radio stations in the greater Tuscaloosa area; and appearances at the grand opening of the west branch of the local bank in Athens.
The cat is out of the bag, so time will tell.

Are you trying to define NIL as big business? That was only a pipedream. NIL money is coming straight from the school "collective."
And according to Brian Kelly, a decent DT is going for 2 mil these days.

None of us know if these numbers are accurate, but if they are, would it really be dumber than an SEC head coach publicly stating that he failed to get the d-lineman he needed to be competitive because they don't have any NIL money to spend?

If you care enough about NIL then at least get the story right.
Kelly wasn't bidding 2 million dollars for a DT. Oklahoma was.
