What does Napier have to do this year?

Schedule is:
Miami
Samford
A&M
@State
UCF
@Tennessee
Kentucky
@Georgia
@Texas
LSU
Ole Miss
@Florida State
Road games are tough outside of the first one, home games are doable…probably drop 2 of 3 vs Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss. Does he need to win 2 road games?
If they start 5-0 is he’s safe? Should be able to get to 7 wins if that happens…somehow.

If he drops 2 games before that, ouch.

Not promising recruits $10 M NIL is probably a good place to start.

Have a team that shows up every week and competes, without the stupid shite that loses football games. The Gators were an 8-4 football team last year that found a way to be 5-7 because of poor coaching, poor execution and undisciplined play. That is all I expect.

Would losing to UCF be a fireable offense?

If he goes 3-2 here:
before this:
The Gators may end the season with 5 wins again.

We had a great visit on Monday. Billy is a very nice man…I’ll be pulling for him.

Well we know he will beat Tennessee. I hate to say it but UF is past due to beat us considering we've won like 6 in a row against them, including some of the most bizarre LSU wins I've ever seen like the shoe game or the time when Ty Davis-Price randomly set the single game LSU rushing record. That being said losing to Billy would be equally as embarrassing as the time that Brian Harsin became the first Auburn coach to win a game in TS in the 21st century.

You nailed it. The man is a walking clusterf*ck.
We had 10 men on the field during a shanked fg try in the spring game. Nothing will change, despite a riduculous number of staff, interns and two O line coaches. And better talent overall on the roster. Nothing will change.

New special teams coach should help.

It takes a special coach in Gainesville to count to 11.

I could see a 3-6 start pretty easily if they lose to Miami.
A&M is a tough game, they like to lose to UCF for some reason, and State on the road is never easy for them either. 3-2 is the most likely start imo, but 2-3 is not out of the question. Then they play 3 teams that are all better than them and the only one that is at home is Kentucky.

It also takes a special coach to hire female employees, to drive around drunk football players. And kill a few of them.

That would probably end my support for Napier.

That's not fair.
She wasn't drunk when we hired her.
Are your coaches special before or after they get to Gainesville?

This. Getting to a bowl will give him another year and more proof that UF is in the "trust the process for 5 years" phase.
I guess they gave up on "win now" after firing 3 straight guys who basically did but not consistently enough.
Muschamp won 11 in season 2. McElwain made the SECCG game the first two years. Mullen won 10 and 11 in years 1 and 2.
Suddenly a 6-win and 5-win season is good enough because he just needs time.

I remember when Arkansas had a string of road games, against the meat of our schedule last year and before the season, I, and a few other Hog fans were doing the whole "well if this and this happens than this won't be so bad and we can do this."
If you find yourself doing that before a season face it... you're screwed. Barring a miracle Florida is in a world of trouble. Most of us would look at that starting 5 games and wince, thinking "Man, Florida is putting themselves in the hole to start the season." Then, somehow, it manages to get much, much worse.
Again, I wish the Gators the best of luck, and it would be fantastic if they manage a good season, but in my experience after a certain point in time teams just get worn down... mentally as well as physically. This is a "fire your head coach" schedule for them.
