Has anybody heard any details about the shooter getting apprehended or if a suspect is identified?

with a group of young adults gathered in a parking lot at 3am, I am assuming someone got their feeling hurt and pulled out a gun

Let’s not speculate on this. None of us know what happened. Anyone could be in the wrong in this situation.

I was told by my dad and passed along to my boys. Nothing good happens after midnight. Still rings true today.

$66,000+ raised so far.

Just among a few I've noticed that donated were Cole Cubelic and Josh Donaldson. Obviously there is anonymous donating as well.

A 14 year old and a 15 year old have been arrested in the shooting.

No names due to age.

This is not NY….they will not be bailed out.

. . . being out after midnight with a gun.

Both parents and sons (all four) should be currently incarcerated (without bail) and facing a very long sentence in grown up jail. Their other children deserve the chance to be raised with some parental guidance, basic rules, and having a decent bed-time.

I have worked with mentally ill juvenile offenders for over 30 years. These kids have already been incarcerated. You don't just start at the top when you decide to commit a crime. They have already been arrested for lesser offenses like car theft, robbery, truancy, assault, etc. Blame the judges who keep letting them out.

excuse - the after midnight rant

quote:

A 14-year-old and 15-year-old boy, both from Sarasota, were arrested in connection to the shooting near the intersection of 31 Street and Osprey Avenue. A 28-year-old man was shot just after 10 p.m. and died from his injuries.

From what I've read Sarasota is a pretty decent city.

From an aerial view it looked like the location is more of a strip mall variety with individual shops.

I am guessing the hookah bar which stays open until 5am (wtf) bought its prime location because real estate is pretty cheap right now.

I was once a kid too and stayed out beyond 2am. Beyond that I believe the kids should have thought they were safe and didnt do anything wrong.

Any place can turn into a bad place when 14 and 15 year olds start walking around at 3 am with guns. You have to have a license to cut hair, but anyone can have kids.

The worst part is these pieces of shite probably had no motive, other than joining a gang or to look like badasses

My guess is that the delinquents were trying to pull off a robbery.

You calling me out? On this thread of all threads… like I said the world
Has gone insane.

Plus none of us were there and are now just get the initial things revealed from the police.

As far as out after midnight it still applies nothing good happens after midnight.

I was t implying that Brian or his brother was in the wrong in any of this just why come on here and speculate what might have happened.

Continue to pray for the Battie family and all victims of these senseless shootings

I think that is a totally different incident than the one involving Battie. Why they linked that article in this write up is confusing. Here is link to Battie incident from same outlet.

It happened at the Tallywood Centre Plaza, in the 3400 block of 17th Street, at a business named Hookah Lounge Marrakech. It's located in the same plaza as Bitia's Taqueria and Maemi Peruvian Cuisine. According to Sarasota County sheriff deputies, the shooting took place at 3:30 a.m. Saturday. According to its website, the Hookah Lounge Marrakech's normal closing time is 5 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
