This is what I take away from this article. Fields wouldn’t take advice from veterans Nick Foles or Andy Dalton, but will take advice from Russell Wilson, gladly.

Or he was the 11th pick and thought he should start immediately and now he’s been humbled by being traded for a 6th rounder

You might be a snowflake
My takeaway is Fields isn’t as good as he thinks

Fields can run and throw a long bomb for a TD every now and then, but he’s not very good. He’s an idiot as well.

I would take advice from Foles and Dalton, but not Fields. You saying I'm racist?

Maybe his ego is the problem, not the skin color of the people he obviously doesn’t care about. Chicago dropped him like a hot rock, I’d wager his attitude is the problem, not the people that have to be around him.

Maybe the guy is just an a-hole and you need some stupid racial angle

Every player loves their new team and teammates, until they don't.

I don't see race being a factor. He was drafted by Chicago and was expected to be the starter. He probably went in there with an attitude like "Yall are going to be my backup, why should I listen to anything yall have to say?" Which is stupid because you have to respect their careers.
It sounds like Mike Tomlin was aware of his attitude which is why as soon as they picked him up he came out and said "Russell is our starting QB". That was Tomlin telling Fields "we are going to give you a chance because you do have the ability to be our QB long term, but you are going to have to sit your arse on the bench and learn from Russell first".
And if he would only listen to black QBs, Russell Wilson would be the least likely black QB he would be willing to learn from just because Wilson is a corny dude who is only black in skin color.
The problem is just Fields himself. Lets see how he handles being the backup and that will tell Pittsburgh whether or not he is worth investing in long term.

Fields "knew he was the best and should be out there," he thought he could've stood to learn from Dalton and Foles.
Lol if he was good he wouldn’t have been let go

Great athlete, not a good QB. Chicago was smart to move off of him.

1) There’s basically one quote from an anonymous former coach, after he’s no longer with the organization, everything else from his time that’s been reported spoke highly of his character.
2) I wouldn’t even be shocked if there was a bit of kernel of truth to it. The whole situation was completely mishandled from the start by the Bears. He wasn’t named the day 1 starter for the season (which maybe could’ve eased any threats if he thought there were any, and opened him up to learning). But he also wasn’t told “you’re our #3 the whole year, learn from these two guys”. It was a pseudo-competition from the start, with Fields the backup to Dalton and ahead of Foles, and then taking over as the starter a few weeks into the season after Dalton was injured. Just very awkward all around.
3) He was beloved in the locker room and by the organization in Chicago though, so even if #2 was true, it was a one-off in his rookie year in a weird situation.
4) And even if #2 is true, it likely has nothing to do with Russ’s, Dalton’s or Foles’s races, but simply Fields being humbled.
Overall, Fields didn’t prove enough, but the indications were that it was all on-field, not off- until coincidentally a few days ago. He could’ve done more to help himself, but he was also put in a terrible situation. Williams is entering about a 1 million times better situation in a number of ways, so we’ll see what happens with him.
ETA: Not a Buckeye fan anymore (despite the name) but a Bears fan.

Fields wouldn’t take advice from Big Dick Nick, Super Bowl MVP that beat Brady twice?
