I think Ole Miss has to win series in Baton Rouge to have a chance. 12-18 would be very iffy at best.

depends whose on the committee and what subjective criteria they are using to defend their picks, but i dont see oklahoma worthy of being in the top 8 and i dont see them awarding the SEC with 5 of the top 8. Probly 4 SEC, 3 ACC, and one lesser deserving team to spread it out

Frauds. They play the RPI game by just staying on the road and getting "bonus points". They have a grand total of 1 Q1 series win and just 3 total Q1 wins. They'll win the Missouri Valley, but MV is the 11th ranked conference per the RPI. Not only should they not be a top 8 seed, but I wouldn't even have them hosting.

Yes. My thinking is Ole Miss takes 2/3 this weekend in Baton Rouge.

We are where we are because of the shite show that the ACC was this past weekend and the shite show that the Pac 12 is.

There is not 3 top 8 deserving teams in the ACC after this weekend.
- Clemson swept by Wake Forest
- Fla State lost 2/3 to Pitt
- Virginia lost 2/3 to NC State
- Duke lost 2/3 to Ga Tech

So you have Ole Miss on there but not Vanderbilt?

I think Vanderbilt is almost certainly making it if they don't get swept this weekend.

5. Oklahoma

Overall Record - 32-17 - 38th best record

2 Q4 losses
4 Q3 losses (swept by Lamar)

RPI 15

This looks more like a host team and not a Top 8.

RPI
24. Ole Miss
28. Vandy

SOS
2. Ole Miss
19. Vandy

Q1 Record
Ole Miss 12-17
Vandy 6-14

Vanderbilt is not making the NCAAT with 13 league wins

Direct you to a post above regarding the issues with the ACC this past weekend. Oklahoma being in the top 8 is more to do with teams playing themselves out of the top 8 more so than Oklahoma playing their way in.

winning 1/3 would put them at 13-17, and having lost 4 straight series to end the season. 13-17 would prob put them in last 4 in, first for out territory.

There very easily could be as many as 4 SEC teams at 13-17. They're not all getting in with 13 wins, and Vandy's resume is worse than the rest of the teams in that conversation

Vandy on the road at Kentucky, USC on the road at Tennessee, and Florida on the road at UGA couldn't be worse timing for those bubble teams

Yeah, you're probably right. Kind of sucks that Vanderbilt's last four series included red-hot Georgia on the road, Tennessee, and Kentucky on the road. But it is what it is.

Probably would come down to the SEC tournament for all of those teams.

Georgia belongs above A&M at this point.

Which is why I have Ole Miss getting in after winning 2/3 this weekend against LSU.

Vandy does not have a strong resume and has lost 5 of its last 6 SEC series. Horrible Q1 record. Horrible road record.

Florida ends up with a losing overall record, which keeps them out.

South Carolina can certainly fubar themselves this weekend if they get swept.

I guess the final weekend and tourneys will impact it. With as strong as the ACC is, they deserve several host spots between UNC, Clemson, Duke, WF (they scare me), FSU, etc.

Wake is probably the #1 team I want to avoid getting matched up with.

meh, LSU lost back to back series last year (one to the worst team in the league) and were still the #5 national seed. A&M's resume is so good outside the last two weekends, if they handle business against Arkansas, they'll be fine.

State hosts if they sweep Mizzou or win 2/3 and then win a game or two in Hoover

I think Vandy and Bama just need 1 more win to get in, OM needs 2 more wins, LSU needs 3 more wins.

Florida either has to win the series in Athens or make a deep run in Hoover

This hasn't been talked about enough. If Florida loses the series this weekend, they have to win their first game in the SECT or they'd be ineligible for the NCAAT. They were in a similar boat in 2013. They finished the season at 29-28 and got a bid because of their RPI

Why?

aTm just took a series from Georgia.

aTm likely takes 2/3 from Arkansas this weekend.

Only thing that may change that is another meeting in Hoover prior to the finals. Or aTm losing the series this weekend.

Speaking of that...the issue aTm has this weekend is that to remain top 8, aTm needs to 100% win the series against Arkansas. That can help negate a couple of bad looking series losses. Lost to Arkansas and there may not be a top 8 seed.

But again, if other teams keep shitting themselves you kind of run out of teams who are top 8 material.
