I'm just waiting on all the bashing of players when they flip their commitment.....

We didn't want those guys anyway, they are trash! Will be all the talk the next couple of weeks.

Getting top talent at UK was not Cal's problem.

We will gladly take top 5 recruiting classes and annual trips to the dance as a baseline for the program the next 5 years. Will set us up nicely for the next guy as well.

Getting top talent to Arkansas isn’t a problem either. We should only improve that with more nil money now.

Is Arky happy or sad today?

Cal is a good coach.

But the optics show Arky sheltering someone that could not get it done.

It really is a unique situation. But they have to be happy. The floor with a Cal program is so high that even if he continues in his underachieving ways you have NBA players around and are a Top 5 seed almost every season.

And unlike Kentucky they won't be locked into an eternal contract, so if after 4 years they reach the same point of irritation they can just move on. Tack on the fact that they were looking at Chris Jans (who is a solid coach, but has a definite ceiling) or some guy from UALR.........could do a lot worse.

Not sure I could get excited about a coach that failed at KY with the best talent in the country year after year.

Our team last year cost us 7mil. Congrats on the NBA draft night and getting bounced early most years.

He couldn’t win with No1 classes, 35 first round draft picks. So even with more money how do you recruit better than that?

You will have more talent that is a given. They will be fun to watch. But you also get the inexplicable losses. If Cal felt like he could get it done he would have stayed at Kentucky. Good luck.
He had his time and during that time he was great. But winning 64 percent his last four years isn’t going to cut it at Arkansas either.

It's a special day. Weird it happened on the day of the eclipse.

Kentucky fans had a lot to do with his departure. You all are the worst.

Good luck to the next guy that will get run out of there as well.

But did he really fail "year after year" as you state?

In 15 seasons at Kentucky...

1 National Championship
2 National Title Games
4 Final Fours
7 Elite Eights
8 Sweet Sixteens
10 Round of 32
12 NCAA Tournaments
6 SEC Championships
6 SEC Tournament Championships

Sure he is 1-3 in his last 4 NCAAt games, but to say he completely failed while at Kentucky would not be accurate. His resume the last 15 years would make 95% of college programs very happy.

It’ll work out well for all involved. The most important thing for us imo is this woke up some of our biggest boosters. Should help the entire athletic department.
