Didn’t this all start because Ed O’Bannon sued because a video game maker was using his number and last name in a video game?

This was the first football video game I played.

That game is a core memory of the summer of 1992. I'd walk home from baseball practice in the late afternoon, take a shower, turn on the NES and then play Tecmo SB, Mario Kart, or 1943 for a couple of hours before my mother fussed on me to stop wasting my life.

I always played as the 49ers vs Raiders. Apparently, the game creators purposely made Bo very OP. He was the fastest player in the game, followed by Barry Sanders, then Jerry Rice. Rice was always open.

Tecmo bowl had bo Jackson
Tecmo Super Bowl was an improved version and I don’t know if bo was healthy at that point
Tecmo super was a little more realistic and improved graphics and you could play an entire season including playoffs
O bannon definitely started the movement and it took years for the payoff
Without some common sense solutions it’s not gonna work long term

Arcade Tecmo Bowl was my first experience with Tecmo.
I think the first football video game I ever played was Super Pro Football on the Intellivision. First Nintendo game was 10 yard fight.

I had the intellivision football, basketball and baseball.
