Not sure how you can make that determination given their embarrassing schedule and losing to the first decent roster they faced.

That's just silly.

UGA, Bama and OSU have elite rosters. But saying that Bama was the only decent roster UGA faced is just not accurate. UGA played (and defeated) teams ranked 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23 and 25 in 247's talent composite.

If your argument is you have to be in the top 10 to even have "decent" talent, that's a ridiculous line to draw. The team bama lost to in the playoff was only #14 in talent.

It's taking a lot of credit away from 'Bama to say UGA just played a bad game or gave it away.

I don't think you should look at it that way. The biggest job of coaches is to get their team to play well. Sometimes it's not enough, but all you can ask is for your team to play well in games. It's not a fault of the team that played well to say they played to their talent level while the other team didn't. It's a compliment.

For UGA, missing field goals and losing the turnover battle are the key signs I look to when judging if UGA played well or played poorly in a game. UGA lost the turnover battle and missed a FG against Bama. In a 3 point game a missed FG and a turnover that led to a FG for the other team pretty clearly had an impact.

I don't use that as an explanation for every loss. UGA played awesome in 2017 in the NC. We just got beat. UGA played about as well as they could against Bama in the 2020 match up too. We were outmanned and out performed by a better team.

But UGA didn't play well in the last match up. They still could have lost even if they had played well, but I'm not going to say UGA had their A game when they clearly didn't.

Yeah, it definitely wasn't UGA getting blown up in the backfield on 5 different 3rd and 1's and having to punt.

It sounds like you are saying that if our starting OT was playing things might e been different.

I'd also say that if 'Bama's starting CB and RB were healthy and playing it would've been even worse for Georgia.

Nope it was a blown call at a very critical point in the game. Just like the 2017 NC game. The refs were the difference. Check the game tapes and photo of that “catch” if you don’t believe it. UGA got cheated once again. Does Bama pay these guys or is it a blackmail thing? UGA is not the only school to have experienced this Bama bias

Wasn't Bama without their #1 RB and #1 CB in that game?

Okay, let's play. Georgia was without its preseason first team AP All American middle linebacker. Played two true freshman.

Our first round offensive tackle left the game in the first quarter and never came back.

The greatest tight end in SEC history was limping around the whole game and so was McConkey, who's looking like he's about to be a top 50 draft pick. RaRa Thomas didn't play.

That's 3 of our 5 top pass catchers.

This is where it gets stupid, as when UGA pointed out to Bama fans that we were starting a walk-on at free safety due to injuries in the 2021 SECCG it got dismissed as a reason why Bama had success passing in that game and not the national title game.

That's why all the injury stuff is stupid. Yeah, Bama had injuries in 2021. UGA had injuries in 2023. So did the other team.

Bama played better than UGA and won last year. UGA played better than Bama in the NC game in 2021 and won that year.

Just accept the result of the game people.

Nope. The refs gave that game to Bama and I’m not about to forget that.

But the biggest reason UGA lost was the SEC refs kissing Bamas flabby arse. Somehow they are always there for Bama at critical points in the game. Wonder why?

Kirby would be 5-0 instead of 1-4 against Saban if it werent for the refs.

IDK. I keep asking why the 13, soon to be 15, other SEC teams let it happen.

Maybe not 5-0 but most likely 3-2. The Tyler Simmons call and the fake “ Catch “ call cost Georgia 2 games.

And they were ridiculed for it. Now a Georgia guy does it, and it’s okay bc Bama did it? What kind of circular logic bs is that?

No one really holds it against UGA because they’re a relatively immature fanbase, as most of them never lived through a championship before 2021. We ridicule Bama for it because they should know better.

I’ve lived thru THREE natties. Was there for all of them. My father was there for another
Georgia fans are enjoying giving Bama a dose of their own medicine. They said they “wuz hurt” when we beat them for a Natty.
Well we were hurt too. And when you have Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey on the side lines plus several other starters you are definitely hurt.
It cuts both way. We were hurt. “We really really were”. But we could have still won if not for the SEC refs. Check out the game videos and the photo of that “catch”.

I saw the catch but to be honest that Bama team was not that good and you guys had no business even putting them in that position. They basically lost to Auburn and Auburn literally lost to NM State.

I wasn’t saying that Bama isn’t dumb for complaining about injuries but we jump on Bama more because no one expects UGA to “get it” same as Clemson fans who thought they were blue bloods when they won 2 championships then got railed in 2019.

Unlike LSU Georgia IS a blue blood. And our coach doesn’t grind on teenagers and we don’t steal from childrens hospitals
