For the last 2 years, all I have been hearing is that Texas can't play an SEC schedule. Now we are playing an SEC schedule and everyone is talking about it being easy. Will you guys make up your mind...?!?

1) Your game vs OU is no different in the SEC than it was in the Big 12.
2) Don't bump your chest by saying that Arkansas and aTm are the toughest SEC road games. Are they easy? No. But they are not the toughest either. The point is, Texas dodged playing LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Auburn in their first year... unlike Oklahoma's SEC schedule.

SEC fans are the gift that keeps on giving. SEC is superior and we couldn't compete....we join and now the sec sucks.
These are the same fans who call US arrogant lmao. Just sit back and enjoy the circus. It's funny.

LSU no defense, would've been fun to go into death valley and beat that arse.

Alabama beat them last year in Tuscaloosa

Tennessee Probably would've been a fun game but really they're not much better than A&M

Ole Miss
Would've been a good game.

Auburn
Don't make me laugh.

I mean having Georgia is obviously tough for anyone. your toughest stretches will be

Oklahoma and Georgia in consecutive weeks and

Arkansas, Kentucky and A&M in consecutive weeks

Other than that your schedule sets up nicely

I am completely serious when I say this: thank you for sharing that. I've been looking for a website like this for a while.

Texas plays 5 real SEC teams, 3 of them being the worst all-time SEC teams in Vandy, State and Kentucky with a combined all-time conference win rate of 0.305.

Overall I've stayed off this topic, but this statement is pure stupidity.

Tennessee was 9-4 last season. A&M was 7-6. That's a significant difference.

Kentucky and A&M are equivalent teams. Not Tennessee.

There were 7 SEC teams with 9+ wins last season other than Texas (including OU).

Texas got an easy draw by only facing 2 of those 7 (Oklahoma and UGA). There was nothing unfair about it, you just got a lucky draw.

Funny you left out how many of those 9 win teams each played: Tennessee (3) A&M (4) Thus A&M having a harder schedule by the evidence you used above. Now we can go to H2H. Tennessee beat A&M by 7 points at home... Seems like the evidence points to Tennessee being slightly better than A&M like I stated.

I think part of it was wanting to make sure they played Arkansas and A&M on the road.

Florida would normally be a big name but obviously they’re not up to their normal standard. Most of it appears to just be luck.

yeah, they were definitely gifted a soft schedule...but why?

why not make UT play LSU at LSU?

Guessing here. I think SEC ranked their existing top 3 teams as GA/Bama/LSU. Then decided to only make them play OU or Tx in year 1. So OU goes to LSU in 24 means tx doesn’t play them.

OU plays Bama and LSU
Tx plays GA

The other note is since Tx played Bama the prior 2 years they wanted to skip them and give Tx GA. So that gives Bama to OU.

It just so happens that the team’s OU plays are all peaking at once. But they still let Tx off hook (hoof) for overall schedule.

OU plays:

Vs Tenn
At Aub
Vs Tx at Cotton Bowl/Dallas
Vs USC
At Ole Miss
At Mizzou
Vs Bama
At LSU

At least 6 of our 8 SEC opponents will be ranked at start of season! My guess is they reverse this in 25 and we’ll get the easier Tx schedule. Then in 26 is when they decide if going to 9 or stay at 8.

You can't call out Texas fans crying about the horns down and then cry about their schedule.

Tennessee won because of a punt return touchdown. That doesn't count in terms of being "better."

My theory is this, Texas is playing the 3 teams that hate us the most (okie, arkie, aggie) away from Austin. Giving us UGA in Austin was the trade-off.

We should have been hosting OU in Athens after having played in Norman in 2023. Canceling the UGA @ OU game last year, forcing us to replace them with Ball fricking State was a load of horse shite.

The only reason A&M played one more than UTk is that UTk played A&M and UTk had 9 wins while A&M had 7. UTk also beat A&M head to head.

The argument you're making doesn't hold water. Sorry.

If Texas were playing 3 of the 7 this upcoming year nobody would say anything. Playing 3 vs 4 is just a matter of luck of the draw.

Playing just 2 is VERY LUCKY.

Special teams is actually part of the game of football. So it definitely counts.

Don't blame me, you dictated the criteria.

It took home field advantage for Tennessee and a punt return touchdown. I'll say it again, Tennessee is slightly better than A&M.

Funny, nobody seems to care that Mizzou plays 2 of those teams as well.
