wtf, kind of random

Not really
Guy tore an ACL in his career and then could’ve gone pro but came back and was the lynchpin and heart and soul of the team that won a natty
It’s only random if you don’t know any context of the team and the season

Dude was 3rd in the conference in Slugging % and OPS playing an entire season with a blown ACL then came back for another season. Yeah....totes random

interesting you left off the following...
quote:
soul of the team that won a natty
surely that wasn't on purpose right?

Dude played with a torn ACL or at least in recovery when he shouldn’t have been and was still ripping dingers. Mad respect but not sorry we don’t have to pitch to him anymore. And agree - y’all wouldn’t have won it all without him. Elko was one of my favorite recent college players to watch.

LSU fans are largely idiots so it isn't surprising someone has absolutely no clue about what they're posting.

Even if what he did is considered statue worthy, you have to admit erecting a statue not even 3 years after the guy played is hilariously too soon.
Hell, the head coach of the team that won the natty is still employed and half of the Ole Miss fans want him gone

No need to get pissy because I’m laughing at Ole Miss unveiling a statue of a dude who’s still in his mid 20s just because he was the captain of a team that won a natty

Well they do have a co-sec west champion banner.

I don't know Rebs, a statue seems a bit much in this case.

If I had to admit it then I would be laughing. I'm willing to bet you're the only one laughing about it. I think that says more about you than anything.

Pointing out a noticeable trend is "getting pissy"?

A bit of an odd thing to laugh about. But ok.

There's something that some of you are failing to realize......we didn't ask you nor do we care to ask you.

Doubt it. Dude hasn’t even been in the minors long enough to get past AA, and he’s already getting statues made in his honor

From now on, every post should start with "No one asked me, nor cares to ask me, but..."

dude.....you have a highway billboard in your outfield. You have no room to talk about anything build built as an honor.
I'm literally laughing at your silly billboard.

Ashame the way Bianco is being treated for bringing Ole Miss relevance in at least one sport.
That is a slap in the face to put a statue of the player over the coach while he is still coaching.
LSU would have never done that to Bertman.
I don't think anyone deserves a statue until after their career is over and the one for Elko is way too soon in my opinion. Maybe retire his jersey if you want to honor him that quick. Elko is not even Ole Miss best baseball player in history.

You laughing at a national championship billboard while seeing nothing weird about erecting a statue of a guy who played baseball for you 2 seasons ago is about Ole Miss as it gets.
It’d be one thing is dude went down as one of the greatest to ever play the game but could any sports fan not in the southeast even tell you who Tim Elko is?
