I agree with this. That being said, I think we all tend to do the same thing for the politics we agree with. Some school shootings would have been prevented by making it more difficult for people to get guns but the bias towards that is very different to the one here with an illegal immigrant killing someone.

I don’t know the answer, but I feel like we should do whatever we can to prevent stuff like this from happening again.

While true, this falls under the category of people using a legal product to perform an illegal act. Also, restrictions on gun sales affect everyone including law abiding citizens.

Controlling who comes in over our border and detaining people here illegally has no negative impact whatsoever on citizens and is consistent with our current laws (and every other country too).

IMO this is apples and oranges.

If we didn’t let any illegals into the United States, there wouldn’t be an illegal murdering someone….preventing illegal aliens from coming into the US does not infringe on anyone’s rights. They simply need to enforce the laws that are already on the books.
