after back to back titles by State and Ole Miss in 2021/2022 respectively it's been a struggle for both.

Neither team was great when they won the natty. They just got hot at the right time.

State was a national seed.

State and Ole Miss both had Ace pitching when they won titles. LSU had an Ace in Skenes.
Will be interesting how pitching comes along this year for State and Ole Miss.

State had some great talent and leadership on that roster. We haven't had anything close to that since.

Lost all of our leadership

Cyclical nature of sports. Both will pull it together this year or next.

To answer OP, we lost all of our leadership and I honestly think Bianco is mailing it in. He wants to retire and knows this is his last season. We’ll go get McDonnell from Louisville

Baseball ignorant.
At the time, State was the 7th national seed, was the only school in the country that had been to the last 3 CWS, and was the only school in the country that had been to the last 5 Super Regionals.
In the CWS, State beat the #2 seed twice and the #4 seed 13-2 and 9-0 to win the championship.

Our 2 best pitchers are out for the season with injuries... again.

NC State was the best that year. Baet #1 Arkansas in Supers. Already beat Vandy in Omaha. NCAA stole their natty over childish COVID rules. They didnt even get to play.

I stand by what I said. State was a middle of the pack SEC team that year that got hot at the right time.

Wrong. State was 20-10 in the SEC. 20-10 won the SEC last year. State was consensus 3rd in the country mid-May.
So not just hot in the end. Are you confusing 2021 State with 2022 Ole Miss? They were last to make the NCAA tournament then got hot in the postseason.

It was worth it.
Right? We had so many fans over the years posting things like "I'd take multiple losing seasons for just one national championship".

Hardly. #7 seed State beat the #2 seed Texas twice then beat a rested #4 seed Vandy 13-2 and 9-0 to win the championship. We were better and hotter than unseeded NC State.
