We might decide to do 9 games (I hope we do), but we have no problem with "maximizing interest" in November games. That's a you problem.

11/9 - Alabama @ LSU
11/9 - Georgia @ Ole Miss
11/9 - Oklahoma @ Missouri
11/16 - Tennessee @ Georgia
11/23 - Alabama @ Oklahoma
11/30 - Auburn @ Alabama
11/30 - Florida @ Florida St
11/30 - Oklahoma @ LSU
11/30 - South Carolina @ Clemson
11/30 - Texas @ Texas A&M

It would be unfair if the B1G played 9 league games while the SEC played 8 plus the usual 4 G5 teams. That might allow the CFP committee to overestimate the strength of SEC teams.

Games vs G5 schools are boring and hurt your overall value.

Alabama's November schedule has away games at Oklahoma, LSU, and @ home against Auburn.

I mean, sure, it could be tougher if we swapped out the G5 week for Texas or Georgia, but frick that. We're full in November.
