THIS..You don't do this and put your alleged friend and Alabama in a bad situation. Don't take the job if you have no intention of staying on.

I hope Karma bites this guy in the arse to be honest, just takes a chunk out of it.

think coaches know that the NFL loves retreads. Once you're in, it seems as though you have to want to leave. Sure, you may have to take a demotion from HC to DC, like Dan Quinn, but apparently he's rehabilitated now and worthy of a new HC position

Not if you get fired after one year. I’m pretty shocked a first time defensive minded nfl head coach is taking someone who has never coached in the nfl and is giving him control of the offense. Will be interesting to see how it turns out

I mean if we are being honest, DeBoer is probably just guilty as Grubb. As tight as those two are said to be, DeBoer has probably known for a while Grubb deep down didn’t want to come. And plus they held it to just after the 30 day window. It’s a business. That’s why you can’t get pissed Sayin, Bond, or Downs. It’s the Wild West and everybody is looking out for themselves.

If Grubbs ultimate goal is to be an NFL headcoach, being a NFL OC is a much easier path to HC.
I have no problem with him taking a step toward that goal.

The good news is now I won’t have to constantly hear people call him Grubbs

Although it's easy to think the worst about Grubb, due to how this impacts us, the truth may be a lot more complicated. Maybe his wife didn't kick sand until after he took the Bama job (or perhaps that issue was a red herring altogether). Grubb's ambition may have been the NFL all along, and we were the victim of bad timing. As far as his lying, was he supposed to announce his interest in the Seattle OC job before the portal closed, and DeBoer potentially lost more players? Now, the players go through Spring Practice with DeBoer, and at least get acquainted with him. The worst part would be if Grubb raids Huff, and possibly others, from us. As Saban would say, it is what it is. It's a dog eat dog world out there.

They've already said he's taking Huff with him. And that's the actual loss here. The offense is DeBoer's, I'm actually not that concerned about losing Grubb. But Huff? We gotta make a good hire to replace him.

I’ll eat crow on this one. I figured the Twitter stuff last night was people trying to keep this rumor alive in Seattle. Makes more sense now: Grubb and Huff just came down here to finish recruiting and never intended to stay unless an offer on the table fell through. The deal happening right after the 30 day transfer window closed probably ain’t an accident.

Huff, especially, was retained from the last UDub staff. Grubb wanted the UDub job. I don’t think either planned on being here longer than a year as a worst case scenario.

As far as I am concerned they are dirtbags. Don't take a job and leave like this.

If they come in for the Senior Bowl next year we should make them feel..ahem..welcome. Boo the ever loving hell out of the bastards.

Yeah ain't really no sugar coating this. Losing Grubb and him taking Huff with him sucks.

I can't remember ever panicking about an o-line coach. Do we need to make a good hire? Yes. Is there any reason to believe we won't? No.

Also, a lot of the success UW's line had was because of the blocking schemes, which is part of the offense and isn't leaving with Huff.

Franchione stopped coaching before the Auburn game. The players knew something was up. He knew he was going to the Aggies so he didn't care. He left Bama with his hair on fire without a word to the players.

Gene Stallings said, "there is a way to leave and a way not to leave." No one forced Grubb to come. He could have stayed in Seattle or went to someplace he and his wife liked. He chose instead to lie right up until he left. The guy has no integrity. I wish him the same luck as Franchione.

Exactly.
Byrne on Grubb
Before the Alabama basketball vs. LSU game that's about to tip off,
@tuscaloosanews
asked Alabama AD Greg Byrne for comment on Ryan Grubb departing.
"We knew when we hired Coach DeBoer that there was a chance that Coach Grubb may end up being either the head coach at UW or was on the radar screen with the Seattle Seahawks," Byrne said. "Coach DeBoer had a plan for that and that is being worked on as we speak."

We knew when we hired DeBoer that it was possible we didn't know who his staff was. Is the supposed to be reassuring?

Props to Mike Raita for meeting that POS on the tarmac in College Station. The look on his face when Raita put the microphone in his face to answer for his lies was priceless.
