What I love about it though is this: it is a mix of starters from other power 5s (11 players who started for another P5 team, including the Big 10 sack leader from last year), and a guy like Ricks (the #18 players in the nation from 2023) and guys who were looked past in high school but have since starred for a G5 team. The mix between top high school recruits and G5 stars is pretty much 50/50.
I think it's a pretty brilliant strategy from Elko. It's a way to bring in top talent while still setting a culture and program full of hungry guys willing to work their asses off.
Now, commence to troll, puppets...

#1 because the score is based on the number of players.
If you look at the average player score it isn't top 10.

That will happen when you take in 25 transfers.

it's a nice culture rebuild. Kelly had to do same thing and it worked out year 1

Aggy has 13 incoming 3 star players.

I remember when Colorado had the #1 portal class after they took 40+ players too. Went well!

#1 gainer but #2 loser. Congrats on getting some balance though. Austin needs another L on the schedule.

That’s all well and good, but TAMU didn’t do anything with the past few top recruiting classes. Until Elko proves otherwise, this all means nothing to me.

Yea, but it's still A&M.

When you rank the classes by average player talent aggy is not in top 10.

Enjoying the 2024 version of Aggie transfer-out/transfer-in wheel of never-realized hopes and dreams.

In before UTrans fans make hypocritical statements, completely forgetting that they took a huge class full of 3 stars a couple years ago, with a very low overall point rating and claimed it as a massive victory in recruiting

It’s never been about resources for you guys

But the deal is - it's not even the same thing. The recruiting services work the high school kids, but they know nothing about the G5 players. They have no idea how to rank Mayes or Saunders, for example. They slap a 3 star on them, but they have done absolutely literally zero evaluation.

Portal rankings don't subtract transfers out, but they should. A&M might not break even.

They just want everybody to see aggot ranked #1 at something, anything really.

They’ve been #1 is little brother syndrome in multiple conferences, so there’s that.

Never? That’s a misconception of the school’s origins. A&M only really took off in the 1980s-1990s. Facilities weren’t anywhere close to the competition back then.
Definitely has been a different level since the SEC jump.
