Kelly's first year at LSU...did they have major defections then? I honestly don't remember.

I can't recall either but there were different circumstances for them. LSU wasn't replacing the GOAT, they were replacing the Shrimp Boat Captain...

I hate that we're likely losing Downs, but at least it seems like he didn't make a knee-jerk reaction and thought it out first; we can only hope his decision won't trigger too many others...

I'm a Bama grad. I met my wife in Tuscaloosa. I walked on the track team over 2 decades ago. I like going back for games (not just football games). I own an embarrassing amount of Alabama gear that is only getting larger.

The thing that sucks to realize is guys like Caleb Downs do not give one shite about The University of Alabama. Most of the guys that signed in 2023 will not graduate from Alabama and many will never step foot on campus after their playing days are over (and most of them won't finish their careers playing football at Bama).

Geno Auriemma gave a good speech the other day about how everything is transactional now in sports. It's like that in real life too. It just sucks. Everyone is encouraged to do what's best for them without any care about anyone around them or the future. It just sucks.

Who is the best pro team in the state? Birmingham Stallions or Alabama?

Yes LsU had a ton of kids and were down to 35 scholarship kids. Played a bowl game with 50 players. This is what CFB is now.
