It would be god awful, not gonna lie. At that point Georgia would be venturing into 1990s Florida bad voodoo territory.

Either way, there will be a massive melt by the losing fanbase. Apparently, this is your first season of SEC football. Welcome.
Ha…I had 4 coaches in my 4 years in college, 3 Mikes and a Fran. 17 years of dominance doesn’t fully erase those bad memories…zero chance of melting if we lose an early game to UGA with a brand new head coach.
UGA fans would have a lot to worry about if they lose that game after being a significant favorite with the more veteran team, coaching staff, etc. In the back of their minds, they know they were 1 injury away from having been 0-6 with only 1 NC. Kirby isn’t exactly a good in-game coach when playing similar talent. He just rarely plays someone with similar talent given he’s an elite recruiter.

Someone's a little concerned about their program...

This again.
Unreal how Kirby beating Saban in a National Championship game has fricked with the psyche of the average Tide fan.
Love it.

Ok. I get it. Would you like for me to link to all the Bama fans taking shots at Georgia? I mean, if you are thinking one fan base is squeaky clean and the other is horrid then maybe you haven't been reading the board. Hey. I try to stay out of the trolling business unless somebody trolls first. It has to stop somewhere doesn't it?
I mean...it wasn't a Georgia fan that started this thread, was it?

Vegas didn’t drop the expected win total by a whole game for no reason. UGA should be favored by at least a TD in that game (UGA was favored even when Saban was coaching). Don’t think there will be any melting by reasonable Bama fans if we lose that one in a transition year.
Yes there will. I mean we all knew Saban would be retiring in the next few years yet look at all the Alabama fans.
Besides. I saw on your board a thread predicting the Tides record and most predicted 11-1 or better.
As for all the Georgia fans? Take a look at the posts and it is LSU and Auburn fans taking shots at Alabama, but you chose to take a shot at Georgia. Like I said. It makes perfect sense.

It's crazy how they call us insecure then come out with this garbage.
"Our injuries count" Yours don't!"
So I wonder...if we had been healthy against them in this years SECCG would they have won and gone to the playoffs? Using their logic....obviously not.

Possibly, but we don’t have 6 quarters of football prior to the injuries between the 2 teams like we did 2 years ago (think about that..for a game and half prior to injuries it was definitively proven who the better team was, and that’s with Bama defensive injuries just like UGA had).
Possible and proven definitively over 6 quarters of football are 2 very different things.

So. You are going to stick with the narrative that your injuries count, but ours don't?
And we all know how teams matching up twice in the same season turns out. But sure. Your injuries were devastating and ours made no impact at all....in either game.
quote:So games definitely turn out the same when two teams play each other twice in the same season? Interesting. 2011 ring a bell? Apparently the title game should never have happened because it was already settled. That's the position you want to take?

ETA
I would also add that you said 6 quarters. Do you not realize that when Williams went down the game was tied? So, in your mind a tied game is proof?
Crap dude. Seriously.

Feels like it’s a must win for Kirby and he will have the most pressure in that game. If Bama continues the dominance over UGA, I worry Kirby may have to take his ball and go home in utter shame (or to NFL). Surely Kirby wins that game by double digits like Harbaugh just did to this incompetent coaching staff.
For UGA to be in the SEC title game next year UGA must go 2-1 against Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss, in my opinion. That being the case getting Alabama with a new coaching staff early in the season is pretty damned important to going 2-1 against those 3. Its not a "must" win but it certainly makes the rest of the season more important.
It is not close to a must win as far as Kirby's job or legacy at UGA.
