I will never understand the need to label someone a troll just because they disagree with you.
I’m a Bama graduate and have been an Alabama fan my entire life, and I’m more optimistic today than I ever thought I could be after Saban announced he was retiring; however, I’m no sunshine pumper. I was unrelentingly negative for weeks during this past off season about the coordinator position hires. I was extremely upset about something I love and needed a place to vent, and this was that place. People on here immediately resorted to calling me and anyone else that wasn’t Uber positive a troll and barner and asking for the mods to bring out the ban hammer just because of the negative opinions.
I don’t get it. Why does a person who isn’t a typical sunshine pumper always get the troll label, name calling and the ban request?
Why can’t the members of this board handle a little disagreement? Can’t we all be better than this?

Some people are just a-hole's but I agree with you about the optimism going forward. I was stunned when Saban retired but I got excited quickly when we landed DeBoer.
I think Byrne made a grand slam hire. DeBoer has made some first decisions as the new HC in the people he brought with him from Washington and the folks he is hiring with ties to the recruiting area. My neighbors nephew plays for a pretty good HS in a kind of rural area and he said that the schools HC got a call from DeBoer on Sunday morning.
I think that the areas where we saw a lot of struggle the past few years are going to be quickly solved. Label me a sunshine pumper but I am truly ecstatic about seeing what DeBoer is going to Alabama looking like next season.

It’s very possible I called you a troll. I apologize. That real troll that’s name I can’t remember had me thinking anyone who crapped on the hired was a troll.

You and I learned about the dangers of echo chambers in school.
Some of these guys can only keep up in an echo chamber. It makes them feel validated and safe.

This is the problem. No one should be so upset about this sport, that for weeks they are mad about an assistant coaching position.
I love the sport too and love to come to this board to get updates about what’s going on, and optimism about what good things could be happening on the future.
I think the people who are more often than not upset and angry posting about something are quite frankly weird and need to get a grip. And it does ruin the board for people who prefer to enjoy the sport from a more optimistic stand point.
