Alabama hiring DaBoer is like the guy at the bar when it's last call.

They were turned down by the pretty girls so at last call they take what they can get and then try to convince themselves that she's not that bad.

People say stuff like this but I don’t get it.

He’s got a great track record, there is no other Nick Saban you can hire out there. Exactly what were they supposed to do?

Yeah maybe the culture shock will be too much, I certainly hope it doesn’t work. But from where we sit right now I’m not really sure who they could hire that would be better? Kiffin, Norvell, Sark, Lanning all have question marks of their own.

I think it’s a good hire considering the circumstances

And Alabama didn't even look in Brian Kelly's direction. How ugly does that make Brian Kelly?

It always terrible when you have to turn to a guy that just went undefeated in the regular season and went to a title game.

The things you have to endure.

I know very little about Daboer but I do know I’ll get up every morning thanking God that Brian Kelly is not our new coach.

Well... You can pop champagne over the fall from grace that Bama supposedly is enduring ...or ...

Think that DeBoer was the 1a/1b all along. Saban tried to hire the OC of UW but one main reasons he stayed in Seattle was to run DeBoers offense. No Saban is not the HC...Bama gets the HC of the offense mind that Saban wanted to bring in

apparenty he was the 2nd realistic choice after Lanning. Sarkisian was never a realistic candidate and for whatever reason Kiffin, who would have been my choice, wasn't considered.

HUGE EDIT: as far as I know it isn't a done deal yet till the contract is signed

Keep laughing piggy. Another LSU natty coming in the next 2-3. In the meantime, hogs can continue taking Ls.

Not saying it’s a good or bad hire, but this analogy is really dumb and inaccurate based on this particular search. What was he - our third choice? He got Washington into the final game. Your post would be logical if we got someone like Rees.

This guy has been carried by Penix the last two years….Milroe ain’t no Penix. You truly have no idea if this guy can coach a team without a Heisman caliber quarterback. That has to be terrifying.

I doubt Milroe will be the qb in this offense. Simpson, Lonergan, or even true freshman Sayin.
