The reason we zeroed in on the bad snaps from McLaughlin this season is because they usually resulted in a negative play. The second part of that equation is Milroe panicked when the snap wasn't good.

The bad snaps were there the last 2 years as well. The difference is Bryce was as cool as a cucumber and he didn't let it affect the play so we didn't notice them much.

He just had a shite playcaller.

ye's ...ye's you did...now, slowly put the Jim Beam down
but you may be on to something. Could you imagine Bryce
under Sark if he had still been the oc?

ps…you’re going to ban me now, aren’t you …lol.

To my recollection we didnt have snaps near as bad past couple of years as we did this year. I have smoked a lot of weed since then though.

I bet you a dime bag the snaps weren't worse this year.

The difference was the QB receiving them.

One was 5'11" and the other 6'4".

A low snap to one was right on the money to another.

Maybe but the inaccurate snaps weren't as much of an issue as him snapping it before Milroe clapped, when he wasn’t looking. He was supposed to wait til Milroe claps to snap it and more than a couple of times he snapped it without Milroe clapping and it would sail 15 yards past him cause he wasn't expecting it.

Go watch the film from those snaps.

99% of the time they were preceded by a defensive player clapping his hands.

That's on coaching. We should have had Booker look back at Milroe and then signal to Seth when to snap the ball or gone silent counts like they do in the NFL.

ETA: It's also on the officials, but they fricking suck.

How do explain all those snaps that hit him in ankles?

Again, we only noticed the snaps because of how Milroe reacted to it by usually resulting in a negative play.

I'm just saying the snaps didn't get worse this season.

We had a QB the last 2 years that could overcome them and Jalen panicked when faced with one.

Seth was used to a QB that masked his deficiency and Jalen brought that to the forefront.

We've banned fewer than 15 people since I was given mod rights over 3 years ago.

We just re-instated 3 of them.

As long as you know I was joking.

I think this actually did contribute some, plus last year Bryce seemed to stand about 5 yrds deep for the snap and threw from that point. Milroe a lot of times lines up about 6 yrds deep.

There's been one consistent problem since 2020 and that's coaching.

Reinstating Big Steev was a mistake.

Probably, but this is the season of giving.

His track record will make it easier to drop the hammer if necessary.

I watched the safety for Auburn run up and clap on the early snap at the end of the game.

I kept watching like, “Is he really triggering the early snap here?” It definitely looked like it. And it happened a few other times during the season, too.

BY is 5’10” and Milroe is 6’2” on the current roster. But I was thinking the same thing along these lines today…..

1) The height differential between QBs

2) The ability of the QB to understand what is happening on the field before the snap. Meaning not only reading the defense, but also understanding protections, understanding players in motion on offense, the timing of the snap, etc.

BAMA went from an elite QB to an elite athlete at the QB position with questionable field vision. Who has deficiencies beyond fielding bad snaps, that might not be able to be coached out of him.

The regression in the barner game should’ve set off warning bells, but folks seemed to pass over it with 4th & 31 and UGA the next week.

bryce was shorter than milroe. the low snaps werent as low on him as milroe. they didnt have as severe of an affect on bryce, even tho thy were still there. and i agree, bryce was way more cooler in these situations than milroe. milroe losses all sense of any play and panics. plus, milroes pocket awareness isnt in the same atmosphere as bryces.

Feel I woke up in Bizarro World.

The snap problem was huge this year... and forced the QB to hurry up too many times.

At the same time, Milroe did a great job of just handling many of them.

It wasn't the QB's fault in my eyes [or back on earth].

Saban said this much in the link on another thread. He acknowledged the safety didn't do intentionally, merely to get the attention of a linebacker but said, regardless 'its a penalty'. Your eyes didn't deceive you. I hate to place blame on a ref but he was standing right there and missed it, couldn't hear it, whatever.

Saban also said the center often snapped early or late throughout the season, thinking he heard a clap.

Legit, BY being more average male height probably helped Seth out a bit. JM was almost half a foot taller than BY. Things that were a little low for BY were below the knees for JM.

If you'd had a quotation mark, would it have been TWICE as astounding?
